What impressed me most about the 370Z, compared to the Corvette I also test-drove, was its composure on pot-holed and frost-heaved New England roads. These roads are winding, with blind corners, "thank-you-mum" whoop-dee-doo bumps and decreasing radius turns. This is what I drive on every day.
The Z could fly down these roads, whereas the Corvette creaked, groaned, and wiggled. After 10 years of driving each one daily on these roads, I think the Z will still be together, but the Corvette would be decomposed into disparate parts, flying off at random. Both of them felt a little more ponderous than I'd like (especially on corners that are 1-lane wide and blind). But the Z was a clear winner for me, so I bought it! |
