474mi. w/3 dot's left,,,,reminding me of my chevy fuel gauges-stay's on full a long time & once it get's down to 1/2 tank, starts to accelerate.

Drew303 09-05-2015 10:47 AM

Im boosted so im sure my MPG is terrible...

370Z JT 09-05-2015 07:47 PM

I'm getting 14MPG since doing 4.08 gears. All city miles.

jchammond 09-05-2015 08:02 PM

Ouch; auto or stick? My worst tank is 24mpg,,, best rite @30 but stock 3.359:1 diff

I can get about 30 mgp on the highway cruising in 6th gear about 65 mph. However, if I pass cars now and then it drops to about 27.5 mpg and driving around Boston I get about 19.

Really quite good in my opinion. I have a Focus ST and get roughly the same mpg. It's funny, all these manufactures are building smaller displacement turbo engines to meet government MPG regulations, but when you drive any of these turbos in the real world they obtain the same mpg as NA engines for the most part.

The mpg number on the window sticker is because in government testing the car is probably out of boost most of the time. Turbos absolutely suck fuel when in boost.

jchammond 09-07-2015 09:14 PM

My Daughters 13' 1.6L turbo fusion gets nearly identical milage as mine ...cars weigh about the same

26.8 this tank; filled up & gonna drive in manual & not go above 5th gear (1:1) simulation of 4.36:1 diff instead of 3.36.
I'll repost milage next week: turns around 2500@60mph.
Have a good weekend

You downshift under 500 rpm??? lol
I have a 6m/t and just sitting still with my car in first and clutch in the rpm avg is like 700 rpm lol.

My usual downshift goes back up to about 3k-4k rpm, I also get maybe 15 mpg on the city streets haha

Can I haz fun gauge?

kcquinn49 09-24-2015 06:33 PM

440 mile round trip, 400 was interstate. Averaged 75 mph outbound with AC off. Averaged around 70 on inbound with AC on most of the way. Calculated 29.6 mpg for the whole trip.

Mine idles at 600 in gear @ a stop,,,I only up shift in manual; it downshifts by itself as needed,,,just seeing what kinda of fuel milage i would get w/ 4.36:1 diff gears... Simulating. Cruising/ not hammering on it.
This is 7th gear .077:1 Attachment 108085

I do a lot more city driving and I get about 250 to the tank lol. I also don't have synchro rev. Mine is base/touring w/o navi
I like the fact of being able to control my rpms instead of the ecu doing so

250 a tank,,,,big difference to my 450 & still have 1/4.
normally don't let it do the synchro downshifting/but during this little experiment,i wanted to not put it in "D"
I was looking harder at the 3.69 gears or 3.90, but cking the worse case cinero on the fuel milage...haven't hardly had past 60 at cruise..very smooth-but did notice oil temp was up about 5 degrees.Enjoy all the comments/ but you must be modded out pretty much or idling a lot city driving,,,250 a tank really sucks.
when i drive mine hard;i still get 24 and up.

Dragon_Ball_Z 09-24-2015 11:54 PM

Do you guys get better gas mileage after a tune??

What rpms did you shift at every gear? Heavy acceleration? I STEPPED on mine and still got 320 to the tank last time. Gas saving I've gotten 435

Did you feel your ears burning the last couple of weeks??

I bet I said "Damn you Jchammond" 20+ times...

I spent the last 2 weeks behaving and still only got 25.1mpg for the tank (~23.2 when just driving) back in my 350 6sp I could get 26+ for a tank and the 370 is rated higher, I could coast clutch in and maintain speed down hills or into stops which I'm not supposed to do in the 7at (but I do have a lifetime power train warranty...)

"Damn you Jchammond" ;)

jchammond 09-26-2015 04:14 AM

Just seen that comment burntz. lol
i'm about 180 miles into this tank & can tell the fuel consumption is gonna be more/just not sure how much...normal driving to & from work...does approach 3k rpm @70 & sits on 2500@55....i been keeping rpm's above 2k all the time-even a little hard driving included.
i'll know by Tuesday or so.
Don't know if i included that i only use "ethanol free 93" pure gas! only thing that's been in tank past 55k miles.

What kinda hills do you have in Central fla. ;)
i bet i could exceed 30mpg there.
also note/ 245/45/18 Front & 275/40/18 Rear 26.7" diameter (oem) with 36psi
Base/Touring....so no wings or spoilers for extra drag.

What year is your ~Z~ Raj?
i heard Nissan put a 3.92:1 diff ratio in the 14',15' manual tranny cars.
That matches the numbers you posted,2500rpm@64mph 6th gear.

I can tell for sure this tank is gonna be a good bit less mpg.
been averaging 2500-3000 rpm's all the time.
punched it a few times/but mostly cruising....over 250 miles into
this tank.....not to sure if i want a 4.36:1 diff.
i'll know milage by Tuesday 29th.

Keep me posted on the mileage. What year is yours? You think the 12 will have less gas mileage than the 14?

I am pretty sure there is a law that states if you get over 19mpg on average then you have your Z confiscated and replaced with a camry because you don't use it correctly and your Z is then transferred to someone who will use it as intended. I forget the statue but its definately a law. In all countries too. You guys get 30mpg may want to start posting on the deep web to stay below the radar...

Been a while since i commented on this on...24.15mpg last 500mi.
Mountain driving & some hard acceleration/not the norm.
E-Free93 is harder to find here & they are proud of it.

TexasChuck 09-25-2016 02:16 PM

MPG's

26.5 after I left the Ozarks and drove like a law abiding citizen on my way back home. 23.5 in the mountains, driving as spirited as possible.
Cheers

night blade 09-25-2016 03:54 PM

Certain trips are better than others, mostly highway I'll hit up to 25mpg but overall it's sitting at 20.6mpg after 10k and 1.5 years. Sitting in the average of the poll, so it's hitting the correct mpg afterall.

Yabrokak 09-26-2016 07:49 AM

I DD my car and usually drive city miles, but those are traffic miles generally. My average in city traffic is 19.9mpg.

mishuko 09-26-2016 08:57 AM

I'm getting under 15mpg... hmm
