You might consider checking with Autozone and use their OBDII reader and see what code it is throwing. I think P4020 is the one that comes up for the gas

You might consider checking with Autozone and use their OBDII reader and see what code it is throwing. I think P4020 is the one that comes up for the gas cap. I had that and freaked out. After I re-attached the gas cap and turned five times I had to dive it three times before the CEL went off. That is of course just one possibility.
