So, I think I'd advocate a 270s or 270sx, smaller and with styling cues from the Z, a drop-top to directly compete with the MX5, maybe even undercut the price. If not a drop-top, then maybe a stable targa.
The problem with this approach is that so many roadsters have tried and failed to dethrone the little Mazda, and it's a niche market as it is, that the whole proposition becomes a huge risk. I don't know if it would compete, but I'd love to see what they stood up to attempt it. |
