Road noise = turn the radio up
blind spots = know they are there and be careful

Did that happen on post?

1. road noise - i'd like to preserve my hearing for as long as possible and Australian roads generally are bad...

2. hatch springs... why are they so weak, my replacement ones are failing on me now.

3. fuel guage... the last dot not lighting up bugs me...

4. engine's not buttery smooth like my dad's 1999 maxima... that 3L VQ was like butter...

5. hood anchor point... as a result of the anchor being to one side, the hood alignment goes out after awhile... doublesided gas struts would be nice...

none of the above are deal breakers and change the fact that the car is freakin awesome to drive (which was the main criteria for the car) but it would be nice if the car didn't have the above listed issues.

Dont be afraid to repsray it... They will cover it, they did for me. And find a very good shop and have them bring it to them, or look into their body shop, stop by the shop and ask to see some finsished products...

Its thousands of dollars to be spent when your car needs paints yet most people dont do any research to see how the shop is. I must drive shops crazy but I know they know what i expect and it is better than way.

Push push push to get it resprayed because you deserve it if your car is off that badly.. you paid a lot of money, it should not be a two tone car, my bumpers were awful and no one at Nissan didnt agree, it went as smooth as I could of hoped for.

I can't say for sure. I caught it when I was washing it, but 90% of my driving is to and from work. I put my money on "on post".

My biggest beef with my 370z is the owner...

My current car, the third gen Eclipse, the hood latch is retarded and takes multiple tries, and my doors are never stationary when it's opened, so it always hits me when I'm trying to get in or out.

What's your biggest beef with your car?:ughdance:

You know that Nissan could have designed the car better but they chose not to make it to its potential. (ex. Exhaust, Intake) Its like the Porsche Cayman of the Nissan world.

mjch3n 04-15-2010 02:25 AM

My biggest annoyance is the road noise in the back (sounds like rocks hitting the inner wheelwell)

you know there is a 1-2k solution for that... i'm strongly considering dynamatting my car which will significantly reduce the noise... if you go crazy (which i wont, i want to hear the engine) you can turn the car into something with almost lexus level sounds...

Imagine that, then you will truly be able to enjoy the ear destroying ringing sound with no distractions

i thought to myself i love to just take my car out and go cruising and i cant at this rate...

plus im not going to drive like a kitten
im going to push hard so when eveyone was telling me to go easy on the throttle i thought..." okay...then whats the point of paying 700$ a month to go easy on the throttle...i have a subaru for that"

nuTinmuch 04-15-2010 10:27 AM

My biggest car complaint isn't about the 370.

It's about the Corvette having a Cobalt steering wheel. Wtf?

!!

Every single solitary car in the world does this..."solution" you just don't roll the window down for 1/2 hour or so "depending on the weather" after washing it or getting it washed...

Clint@AAMComp 04-15-2010 02:56 PM

Odd ball gas gauge.

Mergnthwirker 04-15-2010 03:51 PM

For the joy this car gives me, the complaints are really minor. Biggest complaint is lack of visibility. Hate to back out of my driveway trying to peer out of the pass side rear window. LOL!

Once I'm going forward, absolutely no complaints. And boy does this thing go forward!

Actually my biggest complaint is having to make car payments. My last car was paid off for 5 years, so this car payment sh*t really sucks.

earwicker7 04-15-2010 03:54 PM

My only complaints are the in-cabin rattles (a LOT of them coming from many different places) and the paper-thin paint job.

Every thing else is incredible.

Vegitto-kun 04-15-2010 05:22 PM

I really dislike the fact that the mirrors don't fold down when you close the car.

Why the hell make it manual with a button inside the car. just let it do it everytime the car closes and starts up. my fricking renault had that

Majestik 04-15-2010 05:30 PM

I don't like how it doesn't float very well...

wishihadnav 04-15-2010 05:33 PM

biggest beef gots to be the blind spots..

Gaiiden 04-15-2010 08:15 PM

what are people talking about with blind spots?? Turn your mirrors OUT for driving and IN for backing up. With mirrors out when the front end of a car vanishes from my rear view mirror, it appears in my side view mirror. With the mirrors in you can use them to see your car clearance and anything near you. I've never had a problem with visibility, and I back into nearly every spot I take

So how far out are you talking? Do you see any of the rear quarter panels in your mirrors? I have mine set so I barely see them. I know the rule is to set your mirrors so you see the back corners but maybe you have it figured out.

nuTinmuch 04-15-2010 10:29 PM

Why do you need to see any of your car?

I see the very tip, maybe.

Nikon FM 04-15-2010 10:41 PM

My biggest beef is it seems no one has a clue about working on the car. Most dealerships in my area are especially clueless.

edconline 04-15-2010 10:46 PM

Paint. At first blind spots too but like Gaiiden said, as soon as you set your mirrors out all the way you can make it so between the rearview/side mirrors there is no place for other cars to hide. Not that I can see out my windows anymore after the tint went on today LOL.

steveg78 04-15-2010 11:00 PM

Damn drivers ed course 15yrs ago. If I remember anything distinctly, it was that we were told that we should see a small portion of the back corners. Now it looks like that info is dated. I feel old. I will have to try turning them out more next time.

shifter should be shorter
beautiful three pod gauge on the dash with one wasted on a damn clock WTF!!!

My PG paint is flawless, but I put on a clear bra and three coats of Zaino really early.

In-cabin noise issue fixed with convertible top and GReddy exhaust.

Stilts issue will be addressed soon -- agree this car could be lower.

Rear visibility issue fixed with convertible top and heavy right foot on accelerator.

Shifter height issue fixed with B&M short shifter.

Agree with 1/3 of pod gauges being stupid.

Rock on.

Dan37TZ 04-15-2010 11:55 PM

I seriously don't understand why people complain about the road noise. I commute 40 miles a day and yes, on certain bumpy parts of the freeway I can hear more road noise than usual but on regular roads it's almost as quiet as my 335i. It actually rides better too. My 335i has the sport package with 18" Potenza RE050 Run Flats, boy do those ride rough.

My ONLY complaint about the 370Z is that there is no back up camera, come on now....40K car with navigation and no backup camera with limited rear view visibility like this? You gotta be kidding me? I also wished the 3rd gauge pod on the dash was something other than a clock, maybe a G meter or something cool.

Other than that, there is absolutely nothing else I can complain about

370Z JT 04-15-2010 11:59 PM

stupid front/rear bumper and side skirts do not match 100% with rest of the body! grr!

I love that clock, my old Mustang had a clock on top of the dash, always real convient to look at. No matter how silly it may seem that clock on top of the dash is one of my favorite features. A G Meter or 1/4 mile timer or something would be a B.A. feature in the message center, whats the point of that little digital clock in there?

onekneedown 04-16-2010 05:52 AM

I can only afford one

I completely lost a foxbody mustang one night last fall. Completely...

And my mirrors won't go out any further...click...click...click...

If you have the navigation package, you have that clock right above (just a few inches) a digital clock on the nav panel. That's what people are bitching about. It's stupid to have two clocks in one car... it's even dumber to have them so close together.

I agree with Red370! Kudo's Bro!!

I don't even know how to respond to this whole thing about road noise, or any other noise for that matter. The sounds my Z makes is something beautiful to hear, and the feeling behind the wheel is above any words I could think up to write right now. Driving my Z Roadster is just plain GREAT. I absolutely LOVE everything about my new Z! This is just one absolutely terrific car. Every chance I get, I am driving it, anywhere, just to get her out on the roads is plenty enough for me. Returning to this noise thing, sometimes I turn off the radio just so I can enjoy listening to all that my Z is. Buying my 2010 Z was one of the best things I have ever done. I'm a happy man!!

All the way out! You don't need to see the sides of your car... you already know where that is! If you do this and your seat is in a normal position, and your not 4ft tall, you will not have blind spots.

brakedrift12 04-16-2010 06:04 PM

weak paint job done to z :( really annoying whenever I see the scratches here and there

You know I was just thinking this today as I was making a left turn. Hrmmm :shakes head:

Aside from that... the biggest complaint I have is all the gas I go through... because I can't stop driving my car because it kicks total azz!!!

Exactly right. This car is all about involvement and visceral response. This is NOT a GT, it's a Sports Car! If you don't like the noise, maybe you just don't get it! Go buy a toyota!
