"The Houghton Mifflin definition of the "two seat rule" seems out-of-date. Many sports cars today offer small back seats (sometimes referred to as 2+2 seating) and there is a current movement underway to increase the seating room in models long considered sports cars by most automotive experts." Again its all subjective now as times and technologies have changed. A GTI if its power is up there could be classified as a sports car as that seems to be the real test now, power and small size. You can hate on other cars all you want but the TTS will kick some azz and still has way more comfort than the Z and yes it cost more, but were not talking $$$$$s. Go by performance the TTS and now the TTRS is above the Z in probably all areas give or take a two and the current stang and prolly new stang if you go TTRS. And they have a back seat but are sports cars. So 2 seat 4 seat who cares, what can they do is what its all about. |
How do you figure the TTS is above the Z? The Z best the TTS, but not the TTRS.... The Z is more in between those...

You are confusing yourself…………..sporty cars vs. sports cars! apples and oranges!! |
That would also be saying that the GT-R is not a sports car.

new stang will be a beast on the streets, period. They will put an exhaust and a SC on them and BAM..be smokin and probably be a lot more cost effective in doing so. I'm a bit jealous, I have to be honest, but it's like what has been said, they're a dime a dozen. All that also means is we are going to be raped a lot more often by pimple faced 16 year olds and females and their moms and..haha.

From wikipedia that you are relying on So the GTR only "feels" sporty and is really a luxury sedan. I wonder if ins companies consider it a sedan? |

I cross shopped the Camaro SS, 2010 Mustang GT, and the Z. I ended up with the Z for a few reasons, none of them had to do with 1/4 mile times.
While the power upgrade for the Mustang is enviable, it still wouldn't make me choose one over the Z. The Z looks better, which is the #1 reason I went with it. It handles better, which was #2. And #3 was that there are Mustangs at every stoplight. While I don't need my car to be one of a kind or anything, I really would rather not pull alongside my exact car at every stoplight. I'd prefer to spend more money on modding my Z than to have the new Mustang GT. I like the Mustang, and am glad it got more power...it needed it. But I love my Z, and am still quite happy with my choice. |

Another perk for the Z.. .you can cruise and look out-freakin-standing, much better than the Stang driver. Then, when you want to drive fast, you can!! That said, I love the Stang. Second place to the Z however... |
