Default Taking on water!!

I was cleaning out the inside of my 370z '09 and I noticed the carpet on the driver side was moist....I thought I must have split something. As I further investigate I found behind the drivers seat a puddle of water!!!! I instantly went into panic mood and got the wet/dry vac and towels. I got most of it out; however annoyed on how it got there.

Over the past few days it's been raining hard and I have hit puddles on the road, so I guess that's how it got in. I'm going to bring the car into the shop, just wanted to see if anyone else had issues with water...

I drove through monsoon like conditions yesterday and didn't take on any water. Were the windows up all the way nice and tight? Were any new holes drilled in the floor or firewall for installation of audio equipment?

Windows up, no audio upgrades, nor firewall drilling.

Clean your cowl drains. They're apparently blocked..

Check weather strip around the door. Check the b pillar area. Check your trunk lid. Check your trunk floor under spare.

Check the holes coming from the firewall, there are a lot of cables that they run into the cabin thru it. Some of them are very low to the ground that you don't even noticed unless you pull the carpet out.

How long have you had the car for and is it the first time you've taken it through heavy rain?

Same thing happened to me after going through heavy rain for the first time. Turns out the firewall wasn't properly sealed somehow:-S At least thats what the dealer said.

I dropped the car off today to the Nissan Service Shop. After checking it out over the weekend, I think it's going to be something with a leaky A/C. I'll let you know what they come back with.

yah, that could be it too. were you getting musty scent each time you fired up the a/c? sometimes it's a sign that the evaporator drain is clogged. kinda hard to believe on a new car, but could be caused by cosmoline they sometime put on new cars.
