Do you compare your "Z" to a previous car you had?

Like an old flame... I had a 04 VW R32 and what I miss is the all wheel drive, that was soo fun to launch (you can"t spin 4 tires)

yeah maybe the Z was not a good choice for you lol

I think it is natural to compare, how else would you be able to judge the car

Err........Z has Hydraulic clutch actuation, just like the R32...

The R32 is a pretty cool car though...

Of course I compared them. The Z is better, hence the purchase .

Very interesting subject for a thread.
My previous "fun car" was my beautiful 1995 M Edition Miata. I bought her new in 1995 and she was too perfect and with too few miles (35k) to give up last fall when I bought my new Z. I will never part with my Miata. She now has Classic car plates on her.
Like two wonderful kids, who have different personalities but whom you love equally, my Miata and my Z are different but both are special to me. The Miata is light and lively and quirky and fun. The Z is heavy and solid and prestigious to own. The Z has awesome power and is a thrill to accelerate and let loose. It is sensuous, sultry, full figured and irresistible. My Miata is cute as heck, with a pony tail, a turned-up nose and freckles and makes driving a happy experience.
Both cars are a pleasure to own and a source of pride. They both turn heads wherever they go. They are different but loved equally.

The last sports car I owned was a 1965 Griffith. Powered by a Ford 289 c.i. V8, 275 h.p.. Weighing less than 2000 lbs., could do 0-60 m.p.h. in less than 5 seconds, which for 1965 was extremly fast.

Can't really compare a Z to a F250... But parked next to each other the Z was the same lenth as the truck, minus the 6' bed. Its easy finding parking spots now. But compared to my old Mustang or Camaro, the Z handles betters, but lacks the torque, and V8 rumble. But its a real sports car not a pony/muscle car.

All the time and I tell you I still wish I could have keep my last car too, even though they very similar in style and performance. Had a 08 2.0T Audi TT black coupe chipped full exhaust and CAI, 0 60 in 5.5 secs. Just wanted a Z kinda bad so I traded in. But I do miss the old car at times. Love both cars.

i did compare my Z to my G and was pleasantly surprise how DIFFERENT these two cars are... enough to justify keeping them both.

I sometimes miss the torque and the acceleration of my C6, but the Z is more fun to drive and the interior is much nicer.

Plus our driveways look better with Z's in them instead of those plastic cars....

I loved my old 2003 Mustang GT. I had it from my senior year in high school to my junior year in college, so I have a lot of great memories with that car.

Surprisingly, the Z really reminds me of that car at times. The 3.7L's driving dynamics are eerily similar to the old 4.6L 2v V8 in the GT (with a 4.10 gear) and some of the sounds are very similar as well.

To answer your question, I don't think I "compare" the Z with the Mustang very often, but the Z makes me think about it every day. Those memories are the kind that will stick with you forever.
