#1) I think they hit a home run with the 370Z styling. The 350Z never got my juices flowing. In another couple of years, I think a total refresh would be a very good thing (keep my current Z unique, give me a reason to buy another). I'd like better sightlines, and a lot less bulky feeling on the road. But don't make it into a Miata (unless you just gotta have them doors!)
#2) This would also be the opportunity to lose some bulk/weight. Today's drivetrain with a 2600lb car would be sick! In fact unless it loses weight, the Z as we know it will be gone forever. Unless the Z loses weight, it will end up with a 900lb battery pack and another 150lbs of electric motors. Yuck! #3) For the truly hard-core, a twin-turbo version with real Brembos. Gotta have something to scare those 'Vettes & big Porsche's. I love my car. Can't think of any changes that won't end up making it too socially responsible, or too much of a girly car. Live free or die! |

I think a targa would be something I'd trade in for

I want something reasonably simple, which has bugged me since day one.
A rear hatch release on the remote*, and another below VDC button. * Who needs a panic button anyway?

Add me to the list who thinks the omission of a hatch release inside the vehicle was a stupid move by Nissan. To my previous list I forgot to add: redesign the front end to get rid of the fangs.
To those who suggest a Targa top or T-tops, the extra bracing needed to keep the body from flexing is going to add weight, which everybody already bitches about. Plus the inevitable rattles and squeaks. And with the limited storage space in the hatch, you may not be happy with stowing the Targa panel or T-top panels back there and trying to carry anything extra much larger or taller than a pizza box. |

I don't see why some people insist in comparing Muscle Cars to Japanese Sport Cars.
It never going to be the same. Totally different markets and enthusiasts. Comparing orange to apples. Countless threads of the same BS over the months. ![]()

Back on topic, I'd like to see:
-A ultra light track version with more power/torque that goes beyond the Nismo. (think Porsche GT2/GT3 RS) -Removable top like the Vette. (I like the lines of the coupe more than the convertable) -Syncro-Rev standard on all manual tran's -More sound insulation -Refine the engine noise. -Although great, drop the AT version and replace with Dual-Clutch -Rearview camera standard equip. -Free Ipad with 3G ![]()

i used to think it was really dumb that there is no hatch release, but ni reality, it doesn't make much of a difference. as long as the car is unlocked, anyone can open the hatch just by pressing the button on the rear bumper for the hatch release. You don't actually need the key in your pocket to open the hatch if the doors are unlocked.
