How to disable top-speed limiter?
I took my new car on the track and kept getting left 'stood still' when I hit 155mph.
Does anybody know the magic incantation (button/key sequence) to disable the above. I'm assuming it must be possible, or it's a bit of an oversight on such as wonderful car. Sick to death of watching the back end of a 911..! (I have mega-speed rated racing-spec. tyres on order). Better still, is there a full list anywhere of known parameters the user can tweak stuff with? I have the one that seems to re-arm the SRS after routine maintenance (fitting of parking sensors) to start the thread off: - Sit in drivers seat with key. - Without foot on brake, press start button twice quickly to turn on ignition, all lights on dashboard illuminate. - Wait until all lights go out, and BEFORE SRS light starts blinking (gota be quick), then press start button again one more time QUICKLY. - Repeat above 3 steps 3 times. voilą! Re-armed SRS. (There might be more to it, but it worked fine for my new 2010 GT 370z) Failing the usual 'front door' config, does anybody use products such as this with an luck; seems to be just the ticket for a lot of things: Nissan Power Programmer - Hypertech Thanks! -Al. |

Hypertech Programmer... :wtf2:
Cobb would be the easiest. http://www.the370z.com/tuning/6522-c...port-370z.html |
I might have to try that with my Cobb....:eekdance:

I'm afraid you're still going to be seeing the back-end of the 911, even with the restriction removed you're not going to go much faster than 165 without one hell of a downhill straightaway. Well Fusz can.

The Flux Capacitor always helps!

Contact Smoky Nagata. Our tune on Project Mothra will eliminate all top speed and rev limiters. :driving:

Engine removal for significant weight reduction can help too.

Is the unlimited top speed only 165... oh what a disappointment...

Do you live next to the Autobahn? If not, who cares what the top speed is. You won't even hit 165mph on a track. |
What track are you going to that has a straight away long enough to hit 155??

What track can hit 155mph in the US on a NA 370z? I hit 150 or so in my Corvette at VIR, I think about 155 or so at the Glen.

It's all relative and what you are used to. I lived in Germany for 6 years working on the US Airbases (i'm ex Forces), and used to drive to work at 195mph, and that's only 'cos my BMW topped out there. I used to get overtaken at that speed. You'd slow down to turn off the Autobahn to 120mph. Their 'slow lane' would typically average 110/120mph, and the fast lane whatever you liked as long as you were in control of your vehicle. You'd get arrested for being rubbish at 70 far more likely by the Police who would ignore you at 200+ - they'd even pull over to get out of your way. However, the price for that fredom was a driving test that was very hard to pass, probably the hardest in the world IMHO. So, I can 'park' at 130, whereas you chaps have to suffer having an infrastructure set up to the lowest common denominator. Don't get me wrong, your system is GREAT, and I love it ever time I come over, and yours is miles better than any other I've been on particularly the UK system with it's outdated lane priority model. But it does tend to over-sensitize you chaps to a few extra MPH and have your eyes glued to your speedos instead of looking out of the window. Regards, Al. |

It could be worse, in Japan all new cars are factory limited to 180 km/h, (111 mph). |

Slow lane average on autobahn 110/120 mph? Bullcrap. What drugs are you on? |
Maybe your engine is dirty? Try the Engine Scrub [ESCRB1] - $9.99 : KaleCoAuto, Hard to find automotive items! to clean your dirty engine!
Also, your engine is probably too hot...it's a simple matter of physics that energy is lost through heat! The Radiator Insulator - $199.95 : KaleCoAuto, Hard to find automotive items! should take care of that. And if all else fails, try this Flux Capacitor [FLUX62] - $175,000.00 : KaleCoAuto, Hard to find automotive items! Good Luck! |

Hey just be thankful we have that high-performance lightweight paint, otherwise we wouldn't be able to break 140mph.
|
I think the TG guys said that for example the Bugatti veyron only needs about 270 HP for 155 mph but it needs the rest to go faster because of air resistance

This isnt where I parked my car :wtf2:

I've seen video's where people put their car on the dyno and show a view of its speedo to be like 'LOOK my (insert car) can go faster than top speed b/c of the mods i put in. yes, their mods may have made their car faster, but the biggest mod was taking out the wind resistance.

And let's not forget those NISMO stickers. You know they add about +50HP! Everybody knows that....sheesh!

Hey guys Im new here. Could anyone tell me what the best intake is for my Z?

HKS. They cost the most so they are the bestest.
:koolaidwall: |
I think we set my speed limiter to 5300mph. For some reason the uprev software allows more than 3 digits for speed limiter...should've made it 1337.
