Get a supercharger like GTM's or Stillen's or get a 911!

It's a safety thing really, you don't want to hit the limiter unexpectedly when other cars are on top of you. Quite why they call it a safety feature is beyond my comprehension as it only makes things worse.
I've got faster wheels, tires, premium racing fuel. It's all a doddle really and quite comfortable/sedate - in comparison to a full-on sports car that would be ~2/3rds weight of the 370z and 550Bhp.

I'm wondering if the US models have different suspension tuning and possibly gearing to give you folks the impression it's top speed is 165 and it's unstable?

Just a thought. Most of the US cars I've had in 20 years of traveling over there are relatively squishy/comfy in comparison to European setups. I wonder if your Nissimo is more like our standard 370z? Just a idea.

Probably not.
140-150 in the Z (US) is perfectly fine, have not gone beyond that so cannot say but to go beyond those speeds you really need to be putting down some bigger numbers or much longer straights. Hope you have a tune for that premium racing fuel.
What track(s) have you been on that you are topping out the Z?

And if all else fails, try this Flux Capacitor [FLUX62] - $175,000.00 : KaleCoAuto, Hard to find automotive items!

Good Luck![/QUOTE]

Can they overnight this? My mom died in October and I want to see her this weekend to ask where she put a couple of things. (then I'll put it back on the car!) RP :tiphat:

I'm still in for what track a stock z will run 155?? Unless I missed the answer somewhere?

My z is full bolt ons with tune and lightweight flywheel etc. and I was only able to get to 140 on the front straight at Auto Club Speedway.

For now I'm calling bs

none, FIA long banned the use of extreme long straightaways. I believe the limit is a mile or something

Was this a result of the '99 LeMans race with the Mercedes flipping? I remember they added two chicanes along the Mulsane straight at LeMans the year after that took place.

This is truly an amazing product. I bought one. I can do 0-60 in minus 4.7 seconds!!! Yes, -4.7 seconds. And the neatest thing about that? You can look in your rearview and see yourself at the start line! It's for sale becuase my Z is too fast for this planet. PM me and let's talk price!

Technically you have to do 0-88 in order to do it in negative time with the flux capacitor!

nope, chicanes were added in 1990. a peugoat in 1989 did 250mph plus during the race. fia doesnt sanction any tracks that have straights longer than 2km. it used to be 5km long.

i would assume road america or daytona are the two places that you might crack 140 legally if you are lucky in a stock z in the us.

I have reason to believe that, all aren't set to155 by default trust me!

houkouonchi 08-13-2011 02:49 PM

As others have said the limit can be removed via an ecu upgrade.

With the limiter removed you are looking at around a 165-170 top speed depending on road conditions (wind, grade, etc)

For the guy who asked you can hit 155 in 5th gear so he probably wasn't in 6th.

well said.

As a consolation, the 911 driver might also be sick of seeing the rear of another brand if car.

Ps
In a Porsche forum, a rich HongKong kid posted a race challenge with him driving a modified Japanese non-exotic car. It created a bunch of chaos but no one took the challenge. The common comments: "someone will always be faster than you. Learn and accept that fact."
