Clicky Gears!

Dear Members, Do you sometimes have two-step engaging of the gears? I mean, the gears catch a little half way through shifting? This mostly happens in first gear for me.

Default Clicky Gears!

Dear Members,

Do you sometimes have two-step engaging of the gears? I mean, the gears catch a little half way through shifting? This mostly happens in first gear for me. sometime all the way up to 3rd gear. I am not pushing the car at all yet (break-in period).

Should I be concerned about this?

Thanks!

Typical "Z" MT behavior. You'll get used to it, dude.

FWIW, most stronger, larger manual transmissions do that. While you should never feel a grind, some hesitation mid throw past the synchro is nothing to be worried about.

You'll also notice this shifting into first without double clutching from a roll. Pressuring the first gear synchro, it's common to have it move half way, pause again, and then slot in fully.
