Nissan has a habit of adding little features and/or fixing issues with their cars every year.

There are only a very few exceptions when "holding out" might be logical (ie. Major mechanical or electrical problems). But that doesn't seem to be the case for the 370Z as of now.

Some times it's better to wait. A lot of 2003 Z owners ended up filing a class action law suit. They rushed out and bought the 03, the 03 is now one car to avoid buying used.

Yes - I have a problem - THEY DON'T BLOODY ARRIVE IN ENGLAND UNTIL JUNE OR JULY

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This is the only car I have ever owned (that's a lot) that has a high beam indicator that is actually distracting at night. I have even contemplated putting a small piece of electrical tape on there to block it. I live out in the country and when there are no lights whatsoever that thing is way too bright.

Try a small round colored filter, like the ones that come with mag lights.

Only problem, getting it to stick on! glue??? I'm not sure about glue, especially on a new car dash!

I think that was because the 03 were a new Z that came out in a while as in the 09 is jus an upgrade/refreshment of the 350z.

it seems as though the 370z are built solidly.
i could be wrong though....

nogoodname 02-06-2009 10:30 PM

^^ it's always like that for a new model car...it's not really a refreshment car....lol
it's a new model

the G37 came with a few problems.....but there are fixed now
I bought the absolute 1st one from the dealership and i got funky noises and stuff going on
like the engine makes loud banging noises sometimes. the exhaust rattle was fixed.
the throttle was acting up. as in if i accelerated to 3000 rpm, it would just stay there and if i braked to 2000, it would just stay there.........strange

tvfreakazoid 02-07-2009 05:06 PM

WOW every 2 years. It must be nice to have mula like that.:icon18:

No heated mirrors, WTF is that about? Where I live it's foggy most of the winter and this is a huge safety issue.

No interior fuel release, not a big deal to most but here in Orygun we're too stupid to pump our own gas, so we hire people even dumber to do it for us. Now I have to get out of the car every time to open the fuel door.

No interior trunk release. Why?

Blind spots are terrible and dangerous.

No back up camera. Hello this is a $40k car in the year 2009.

The fuel gauge area/info center is dumb and looks out of place.

When you have your high beams on the little blue light in the dash is very bright and distracting. And it does not dim with the rest of the panel. Why?

No fog lights.

It seems like there should be a bit more sound insulation in the rear near the tires as you get a lot of road noise and other noises from debris in the wheel wells.

These are mostly minor gripes. The car is fantastic to look at and drive. The navi is great as well. The Bose system is just fine for me. I buy new cars every 2 years or so, so I've had many, and I've never had one that was perfect, there were always a few things that drove me crazy, and this car is no exception.

tvfreakazoid 02-07-2009 05:13 PM

Dang there is a lot of complaints. Even though they are minor, but it seems there are enough to be a big one. Hopefully you guys make the complaints to nissan and if there is enough of them, they may fix the some of the problems.

yea thats true that it is a new model but what i meant was there was a LONG interval between the 300zx and the 350z.
370z just came right after the 350z so i was just assuming/hoping that there would be less problems than the 03 350z...i don't know.

salsero67 02-08-2009 07:59 PM

I would say the blind spot has been my number one worry, I've owened mine now for over one month and just getting used to lane changing without triple looks!

The deal about fuel doer opening with the gayish push down style is just that, gayish, but at least I don't live in Oregon, LOL

The noise I would say is to be expected, at least in my opinion.

I love the car!

Sounds like its time to turn on the BlueBat signal.

BlueBat High beam vinyl mod FTW!

My complaint:

Nissan Canada trying to stick Canadians with 5.9% financing. WTF is that? We're in a recession, give me a break 5.9%, that's almost double prime!

frost 02-09-2009 08:56 PM

I've only been in the nissan game a couple years, but im surprised at how they don't seem to offer nearly as many deals as a lot of other manufacturers.

There should be a butthole replacement forthcoming with owners wanting the fog light setup.

It really doesn't bother me because my car is black and you really don't notice it. I still don't understand why Nissan didn't design something better for the NA market though.

RCZ 02-16-2009 12:53 AM

Dont know if anyone mentioned this, its the only thing thats annoying me. Well...two things...

1) The vibration that comes through the pedal when you push in the clutch.

2) First to second is very hard to do smoothly when driving normally...

I don't get any vibration through the clutch pedal.

I drove a 350z for several months (ex-girlfriends car) and I think the reason first to second is hard to do smoothly has something to do with the throttle being throttle by wire (no throttle cable its done electronically) and the clutch being done by cable. Its funny you mention this because I spent countless times trying to get it as smooth as possible while driving. If you are driving more aggressively the issue is non existent!

count me as another who doesn't get any vibrations.

a minor complaint I do have though, is occasionally I get a rattle from the hatch. its almost like the hatch door isn't shut tightly and something rattles a bit. you can't hear it if musics playing, but you can if you listen to talk radio. it doesn't do it all the time but I haven't figured out why it does it sometimes.

RCZ 02-16-2009 11:52 AM

really? you guys dont feel like a buzzing from the cluth when press it? Maybe I'm not going far in enough..it doesn't do it when I put the pedal to the floor. It shouldn't do that though.

I get no vibration at all.

dainedazz 02-17-2009 10:28 PM

blind spots! specially the right rear >_<

bossman 02-17-2009 11:46 PM

the butthole

SoCal 370Z 03-02-2009 11:32 AM

Items the Z is missing (digital is so 1984), but needs:
  • Analog clock
  • Oil Cooler
  • Distinctive Intelligent Remote catering to the Z
  • Glovebox iPod connections
  • Second rear deck compartment behind driver's seat
  • Overhead console sunglasses holder
  • Hard rubber vs. hard plastic front chin spoiler
  • Cargo net standard
  • Missing tools supplied
  • TPMS readout in lbs.

I take it these are complaints about what the Z should have, but doesn't?

At first glance, I thought you might be complaining about the listed items, but then I realized the Z doesn't have some of these. (I don't own one yet, so I wouldn't know better if not for this forum.)

hot370z 03-04-2009 08:06 AM

My Homelink died had the car for 3 weeks HOPE this is the only thing that goes wrong .Taking my car BACK to the dealer to fix it. Let you know how they fix it.

Anatoray 03-04-2009 11:01 PM

I wish the 370 retained the 350's badass exhaust sound, but that can of course be obtained aftermarket.

1. I get the vibration with the synchroRev Match on but if I turn it off, all goes away.

MightyBobo 03-05-2009 07:04 AM

It seems to me, many forget they bought a sports car here - not a luxo-sports car like the G37 :).

Yeah, its street legal, but one could also say that the Ariel Atom can be made street legal. Wheres the telescoping steering wheel and heated mirrors in that?!!?

I dont own one yet, but these Im sure would be my chief complaints, barring any mechanical issues I run into:

-Fuel gauge pod looks completely out of place - make it look like the tach/speedo.
-Aluminum pedals would be nice, but nothing particularly REQUIRED...
-Oil cooler should be standard, or at least a factory option if the overheating problems are as apparent as everyone makes them seem.
-Exhaust note should be more pronounced and less "strangled"
-An oil pressure gauge would be dandy

Pushing_Tin 03-06-2009 12:37 AM

The car should have a "sport" setting for the stability control. The standard is too restrictive and when it's off I get into trouble at times. A sport mode that that allows for more agressive drving would be good. Many cars have it.

And again, the heated mirrors is not luxury, it's safety, especially with the blindspots in this car.

I felt the same way, but it quickly becomes familiar, and at home where is it. The digital clock still bothers me as it is just not right, an analog clock would have been perfect.

I think I foresee myself taking out the bezel and painting it a flat black to blend in that much better. But, thats me.

Yes i have the same problem, i also hear a noise when the clutch is pushed and i put it in 1st gear(while the clutch is down) it a makes a high pitch sound. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM???

ZAtLeast 03-07-2009 08:41 PM

I test drove the Z twice and both cars make some wierd noise when I push in the clutch while the car is almost at a stop. I have to say the clutch is really a weak point of the car. Its very difficult to engage smoothly and I've been driving a stick all my life. Maybe it just takes some getting used to?

Pushing_Tin 03-07-2009 10:03 PM

I'm pretty picky and I have no problems with the clutch in my car.

Do not have that problem.

Clutch does feels a little different with the S mode on but nothing to complain about. I love the RevMatch so much, I still haven't turned it off since I left the dealer!

Forrest 03-08-2009 12:22 AM

Rear visablity issue. In the 370z you cant see through the little port hole behind you like the 350, i would turn my head to look through this window just to make sure.

But there is 2 positives that make up for it.

#1 the 370z side view mirrors are fatter and pick up more it feels like to me.
#2 the rear window is not as high up (or long) wich means i cant get a good distance view behind me, but its wider at top wich means i can see whos behind me from the left or to the right more so.

The Car is loud but so was my 2005 350z, i could never talk on the phone with it, so its the same to me, i will take the noise and i shoudlnt talk on my phone anyways. I think 2006+ had alot of sound deading added to them, so i never got that benifit.

Front windows feel smaller but not a big issue just a difference from a 350z.
