Default Fuel economy issues

I have a 370Z touring coupe (6 speed, no sport package) and have accumulated approx. 9000 miles since I first took delivery in June of 2009.

Amazingly my machine gives me up to 30 mpg on a consistent basis, this includes both in town, highway and interstate driving.

I have been using Castrol Syntec full synthetic oil and sometimes use mid grade gas with no apparent side effects.

Needless to say this car is amazing to drive, a little road noise perhaps but a joy to cruise the mountains of Pennsylvania.

Hey neighbor, I'm in Greensburg but I'm getting only slightly over 20mpg, mostly in-town, some open road, on my base automatic. I expect more after break-in is complete, though I obviously didn't buy the car for economy and that's not my priority. Nevertheless, 30 mpg is phenomenal! Good for you.

In my Cobalt (and then G5) the advertised MPG was 24-30 or something?

I averaged 26ish pretty consistently.

In my Z I seem to be steady at 21MPG.

I do 80% city-esque driving with the rest being highway. If I was incredibly gently and drove it like a Prius I'd imagine I could get to 24-25.

That will never happen though.

edit: also it's pretty sweet having a 380+ cruise distance.

Buddy you must have one of those flux capacitors or something. You know the last guy that invented a device that gave him a "witnessed" 112 mpg ended up dead in the desert. They might just steal your lunch money.

lol, 30+ mpg is def doable if you cruise control at about 90kph on flat roads...
