The problem is the adhesive is very difficult to remove and looks and feels sticky. Im crossing my fingers it comes out like i hoped. Ive let the installer keep my car now for over a week(he has other jobs) and added window tinting. Man, Im worried about that adhesive. Any installer have any comments? Thanks, Rich
Wow, that's pretty crazy for him to keep the car a week. I had part of my front bumper redone because it had too much bubbling around an edge, so the installer agreed to redo it for free. He simply heated it up with a heat gun a little bit, pulled it off, and then sprayed and wiped it down with the same stuff he uses to install. There were no issues and everything turned out perfect. It didn't take long at all. Granted it was only on for a couple of weeks before it was removed, but he said it was pretty common for people to replace parts of it if they get badly damaged.

Thanks, I'm, picking the z up Saturday morning. The installer said everything looks good. he used some alcohal products to strip the adhesive. Said it would actually clean it up better. Took 4-5 hrs for just half the bumper. We'll see.I trust the guy though. He is very good. I wonder if Ventureshield has any liability if this problem is present? Rich

Removing the film with venture shield is really easy. It's one of the easiest films to remove. To bad it doesn't last to long as it scratches really easy etc.

To remove just put out in the sun and let it warm up for a few minutes. Slightly pull on the edge and stretch off. The more you stretch the less adhesive will be on the car. If done correctly you will have hardly any adhesive left. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

4-5 hours? Yikes... I never heard of anyone taking that much time to remove venture film. He was probably to busy to get to your car and made up an excuse.

Hopefully he put some wax back on after he stripped everything off. Wax makes the film even easier to remove down the road.

Thanks

Scratches easy? I've had my VentureShield on my entire front end for around 8 months, not a single scratch. There are some really small knicks from rocks, but they are only visible if you are standing inches away from the car, and none of them have gone through the film.

Default I am Heart Broken

I am Heart broken. I just took my brand new 370Z to a 2800 miles one week joy ride to Maine, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Canada and Niagara Falls.
Upon washing the car, I noticed a couple of dings on my front bumper.
I have to get it repaired and cover it with the clear shield. I live in Long Island NY. Any one knows any good body shop and the place to do the clear shield?
Pls let me know.
Thanks
Ben

I just had Rick at Body Skins do my car last week. We used the Xpel Ultimate. Stuff looks GREAT!!! You can barely see it on the car. Rick did a fantastic job on my car and literally spent over an hour explaining the pros and cons of the different materials, how to take care of the bra, etc. He really seems to stand behind his product and work. Hopefully I will never have to put that to the test, but I would HIGHLY recommend him. Just do what he says and you will be happy with the outcome.

My installer covers central southern states and does a lot of work on exotics. I am very happy with a nearly full wrap on my 370.

yah, depends on the material. i used xpel 8mil on the side rockers of my Z (just bought a generic 4" width roll from amazon) and it did yellow slighly in about 1.5yrs. i removed it since it had lots of kickup marks from the front tire.

this time im running scotch 6mil and not only was it easier to apply, it is very clear so far.

I noticed mine peeling a bit in the corners near the wheel well. I could probably trim the piece off with an Exacto..

It was done spring 2011, so either thats normal or my buddy needs to work on his installing skill
