Good alternatives to OEM catalytic converters?

I suppose it all depends on how they do the emission test. If they just plug in the odbc to look for codes, then you just have to ensure that the car isn't throwing any codes. However, it is much tougher if they are running a roller test to measure the tailpipes emission, then you must have cats that work.

Well looking at the prices of the used OEM cats they are going for quite a bit less than I expected.

My only question now is are all years the same? I was under the impression they were, and if I could get a newer year with fewer miles I'd prefer that.

But looking at Nissan Parts Deal it says the following are compatible with my 2012:
Production Date: 09/2010-06/2014

Unless I'm reading into this wrong

lowest mileage from a "stock" motor is the way to go. I imagine the fitment is the same, but the spec maybe a bit different between years.

for compatability, go with what is recommended. I do recall they changed up the design of the cat, but im sure it fits the same. Nissan Parts Deal is legit. That's where i go for OEM stuff unless Z1 has it cheaper with shipping.
