Default speedometer sticks

Ive had the car for three weeks now and its happened twice so far. My speedometer sits pointing straight down not even registering 0mph while Im moving. If I stop the car, turn it off and back on the gauge will sweep back and forth and then it works like its supposed to. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and knows of an easy fix but I think Im just going to have a short list of things to get fixed at my first oil change. My cars an AT if that matters any.

yeah you definitely want to stop by the dealer and have that checked, that's the first time this issue has been mentioned on the forum is your Z an 09 or 10?

Does the odometer still register the miles? Probably not. Talk about an extended warranty!!!!

Happened again last night coming home, the car is a 09. Also Im not sure it the odometer is registering anything when this happens, Ill look for it next time it happens. And I wouldnt be surprised if Im the first one to have this issue here, pretty much falls right in line with my luck...

I've had my Z since November. It happens whenever it's below 45 degrees. Here in the AZ, that's pretty much only December and January. I figure i'll get it checked out next month at my free oil change. I don't pay any attention to the speedometer anyway, until I get to the photo radars - things.

mine does that pretty often now when its cold here in MD, 25-35 degrees, just the first time the car is started. I'm waiting for my next oil change to complain about it. I'm going turn off the "effects" setting on the dash and see if that at least stops it till my next dealership visit. Also i noticed it happens if you start the car and try to drive move the car before the gauges have settled.
