Default Simple audio question

Hello. I've recently purchased some JBL 631 door 6 1/2 speakers and some Kenwood tweeters. I need some help in choosing the right amp to power up the speakers and sub. I'm also planning to buy a kicker 700 Watt 10 Inch sub.

Which of one of these amps do you recommend?

The BOSS Audio or

The Rockville

Really appreciate your help

What is your goal? What kind of music do you listen to?

A (very) rough rule-of-thumb is that you need 10-1000x the power for the bass driver(s) that you need for the tweeters/mid-ranges (depending on what kind of music you listen to, how much thump you want, etc). It takes a LOT more power to make bass than it does treble. If you are going to have a 700W woofer, you only need 100W or so for the other speakers. Ie, the BOSS amp is way too big. YMMV

Thank you for your reply. I listen to reggae, denbow, and old school rap. I'm kinda looking for loud music and bass, but not too loud. So I could go for something cheaper than the 2 amps I listed? What good quality Amp do you recommend that delivers this kind of result? Also, I'm kinda afraid of buying the speaker wires kit. Been reading the reviews on Amazon and all I read is "be careful" "a blown wire" "cheap wires" etc lol. I'd rather buy an expensive kit, than buying something that it will give me problems down the road.

Edit: I decided to go with the Kicker 12" 800 Watt

I can't give you any specifics as far as components - I've been out of the audio scene for over 20 years now. There are several people on this site that are up-to-date on such things. They will probably chime in before long.

Unless you need special wiring connectors, you can buy raw wire in spools and do the wiring yourself. This can save a lot of money. For tweeters and mid-range speakers, I used 16-14 gauge zip-cord. Cheap, easy to find, and has good insulation. But that was years ago and somebody may have a better alternative.

I've been reading a lot about choosing the right amp. Currently looking at 4 channel amps. I've seen people going through 3 pairs of speakers for not using the right gauge and connectors. I will be chatting with the Crutchfield reps to guide me through it since I purchased the speakers and tweeters from them

I've usually had the most success when matching brands. Keeping it all the same manufacturer while sticking to the proper specifications for my application and needs. Boss is ok. I had one years ago in my Eclipse before I got an Alpine monoblock. Amp is very underpowered.

I wish I could do the same. But haven't found a really good JBL tweeters for the dash corners and sub. After a long chat with one of the reps. They recommended me to get the Kicker 46CXA3604T amp and the required wire kit, connectors etc.
