VR30 Swapped 370z

I’m currently doing a VR30 swap on my Z and I’m kind of wondering who else is out there that has done it. More and more keep surfacing the more I dig.

But, I’m going to post everything needed to continue both on this forum and on YouTube. I’m hoping we can all share info and tips for anyone else that is interested!

Get in touch with MAM and Z1. They both worked on the Club Sport.

Why would you bother? You can do a top of the line Fast Intentions TT kit with supporting mods for about the same price I would suspect and get more power.

And Z1 subsequently built one on its own too, an all out time attack car tho.

The Z1 time attach car is not a VR30 motor. It is a VQ37 with different heads with no VVEL and a standalone ECU.

I stand corrected

They actually did the swap on their time attack car, but I think it was a temporary swap.

The white track car that's been around for a while has the VR30. It was at ZDayz last year, as well as the Club Sport car.

The newest SEMA build car is a CJM TT VQ37.

FI TT kit is a lot more expensive so far. Between complete motor with the turbos and transmission (sold the auto trans) I’m under $2k vs $10k+.

But the BEST reason is why not 🙃.

It was a idea while shooting the sh*ts at the shop and then I thought “why not”. But the difference in price is so far not a fair comparison.

Total spent as of now: $1,700.

I reached out to John at Z1 and received zero help. I’d LOVE to, but I suppose they want to keep them as industry secrets.

I do plan to air out everything 100%. I figured that’s why I’m getting no help from companies, but from the Z community itself.

Looks like you are doing the work yourself. That will explain the difference in cost vs an FI kit.

Your best beat is to contact MA-Motorsports and see what they say. They did the first one. They made the first bell housing adapter and clutch setup. That is how Z1 learned how to do it because Nissan brought the clubsport to them for some tune tweaking.

If you include the labor for the TT kit it’d be a bit more also. I’m not knowledgeable about if anything needs to be moved or if it comes with the fuel kit needed.

But I’m assuming you guys will be right. It might near the cost after all the bits and pieces add up. For sure a lot of fun so far lol.

Contact jon@ma-motorsports.com and see what he says. Like I said, they did the first one.

I actually just called and then emailed! This is exactly why I decided to make a thread about this! I’ll let you know what the outcome is. Thank you, brother.
