I spoke to Chris Karl (President of the ZCCA and ZCON 2010 Chairman) and he confirmed that Bob Sharp, Peter Brock and Steve Millen are all confirmed to be at the convention.

If you haven't signed up don't wait do it now. |
Early signup still lasts a little while longer right?
EDIT: April 30th |
Luis - not Bob Sharp - Bob Bondurant is confirmed. :)
We're working on others - get registered! Thanks, Chris |
I'm in!
Now I just need to find some owners in the Maryland, Virginia, DC area to caravan down with. |
Our travel plans out of Texas:
-Leave San Antonio Sunday July 25th and head to Dallas for Mad Mike Party -Leave Dallas on Monday July 26th and head straight to Nashville -Leave Nashville on Tuesday July 27th and head to the Tail of the Dragon. Stay in the Mountains Tuesday night. -Leave the Tail on Wednesday after lunch and head back to Franklin for the ZCON opening reception. FYI- There are 3 groups heading out of the Dallas area. On Monday we leave and do the drive in 1 shot. Mad Mike also leads a group out on Monday but they will be towing cars so they plan to arrive on Tuesday to Nashville. A third group plans to leave Tuesday and do a straight drive. |
^^ hey 300twinz, the third group that is leaving and do a straight drive (tuesday), are we going to meet you guys at the tail of the dragon or are we just going straight to Franklin TN?
I would love to head out with everyone on monday, but i have work. so i have to leave on tuesday morning. =( by the way, how many ppl are leaving on tuesday morning? and where are they meeting at? Im bringing 2 additional friends each with their on Z's. It would be nice to caravan together. |

For anyone who plans to attend this event from Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC, I've created a caravan forum: http://www.the370z.com/mid-atlantic-...avan-whos.html
Check it out and sign up. Hopefully I will find at least a few others from this area to drive down and back with. I'm sure it's going to be a great trip! |
Some of my friends from the NoVA area will be coming to ZCON, once I hear of their travel plans I'll post them here for you.
|
That would be great.
If you can, forward them my info. They can either PM me or just sign up on the thread I created. |
is everyone staying at one of the two specified hotels, or does anyone plan on staying at another location? Although $119 a night really isn't bad, for me to make this trip using their hotel, it's gonna cost me well over $1500. I'm looking to save a little if I can. Anyone have any suggestions?
|
There are certainly less expensive hotels/motels in and around Nashville...the question is how far away from the host hotel do you want to stay?
You might look into Murfreesoro and/or communities that are close to State Route 840 as that can take you to Franklin/Nissan Hqtrs area pretty quickly (but it is about 25 miles away). I'd rent out my spare bedroom but I've already got one guest coming from Detroit for the convention! |
Update from another site:
Just returned from two days in Nashville discussing the convention plans with four of the convention guys. We met with Nissan, the hotel people and the track people also. The convention hotel is within walking distance of Nissan and the car show. There will be three cars in the lobby and about eight more outside the front. There is tons of parking and plenty of room for the fifty-some trailers we are anticipating at the moment. The overflow hotel is about a mile down the road. It is a brand new facility and has the same amenities as the Embassy - indoor pool, business room, etc. Both hotel parking lots will have an off duty police officer for security. We anticipate filling up the front lawn at Nissan with around three-hundred cars or more. Nissan headquarters will be open and food will be available in the Nissan cafeteria which services about 1,500 people daily. You'll be impressed. Special displays will be in front of the building including race cars, heritage vehicles, and concourse cars. There have been questions about tickets to just come see the car show and spectators are free. Because this show is going to be pretty elaborate, we decided to start parking cars around 6:30 in the morning and start the show earlier as well. Nashville has it's problems with flood damage but should not affect our convention plans. My picks for local bars downtown include; Legends Corner and 2nd Fiddle for ambiance, Coyote Ugly and Stage on Broadway for dancing, and the quitessential dive bar with GREAT music - Full Moon Saloon. Here are some web sites for Honky Tonk Row: Honky Tonk Row - Nashville Music Venue Full Moon Saloon Nashville | Facebook Legends Corner The Second Fiddle: Live Music Venue The Stage on Broadway: Nashville Live Music Venue Coyote Ugly Nashville |
Sounds like it's going to b a blast! Thanks for all your hard work!

Although I will say, it was actually nice in May for ZDayZ as almost all the Motorhomes/trailers, etc, etc, that so often clog the Dragon were absent (since they couldn't get through)!!! |
^ it is looking good for us:
Tennessee Department of Transportation - US 64 Rockslide |
All of you dragon-slayers should be good route-wise. Just watch out for the crazy bikers crossing center on the turns. Many a Z have gone to the scrap-yard thanks to US-129.
