1) SRM-which was the most and main for me
2) rear spoiler-in my view i totaly did not liked base model
3) wheels-if you dont like it you can sell it for $1000
4) brakes-this is not the best but since i am not such a track guy its just big and good enough for my little bit of joy

I agree, the brakes are good enough (especially with upgraded lines, fluid, and pads) for most people. The wheels are amazingly light (forged) for 19's stock, and they look pretty damn good (IMO) for a stock wheel offering.

so that's enough for me.

My STI has the Brembos. Wife said that her next car had to have them. Then she saw a 370Z with the sport package (mainly the spoilers) and one without. She wouldn't even consider one without the sport package after that. The syncro match was a suprise to her. (she loves it.) She sounds like Schumacher slowing down for our driveway! :driving:

For the guys who are saying this stuff isn't up to track duty... duh?
When you're building a track car, you know going in that you're going to be upgrading brakes, suspension bits, etc...

If you play fast on the street, the sport package is great.
I wanted the better looking, bigger brakes, 19" RAYS and a spoiler, but the SRM was what I was really after!

Of course not!
65 mph is plenty fast and some states in the South actually allow 70 mph!!!
You need some good brakes when you're traveling those speeds! ;)

I think most Z owners buy the Z because it is a cool good looking reasonably priced sports car and not for its cornering and straight line speed and performance brakes. If you did, you probably will have suspended license after a year or so. I just like the looks of the wheels and aero package.

Huh?:shakes head:

I for one, bought the 370 for the performance. The looks sealed the deal. But to say people buy this car strictly on looks ignores most enthusiasts.

(And by the looks of what you're driving, you've probably never driven one.)

I did got license suspended on my hyundai well no ticket ever with sti and z
And im a huge fan of horse power

AndyZ 07-17-2010 06:32 AM

when i drive Sports cars like z i drive slow
But with any commute cars i always guns it to make it to certain speed because its not going anywhere even i redline the engine
And that why i didnt get a single ticket with sports cars(i think)

Everyone's points are all very well taken. But if Nissan only offered a model
that could be bought only by those wanting to track it than there wouldn't
be an Z's to buy. Sorry imo the average guy who buys a z doesn't do it only
to take it to the track on the weekend. And i will be flamed for this but i would be willing to bet most don't by a z to put a bunch of mods on them.Maybe one or two tops. With audio being one of the most.

That's the beauty of it being an option. Before if you wanted this package it was called the track model. It was a base model with a sport package that cost about 37K. Nissan hit a home run with this package. If you want it buy the sports package, if you don't then get the model with out it. Either way they made it a choice and not a specific model that was over priced. Sorry for all that bought the 350 Track model, but it was over priced...IMO

Good point everyone has a choice.

If you're buying and not leasing, down the road selling a car with sport package instead of without will be a lot easier.

cossie1600 07-17-2010 02:49 PM

Unless you are selling it privately, the dealer dont give a #$%^.

FuszNissan 07-17-2010 02:51 PM

I would pay more for sport package on a trade in
