no need to puff up the Z. It's an old platform, it shouldn't hurt your feelings that it has flaws in is current form on the dealership lot compared to new cars

have you seen any of the new supra? there's alot of modern engineering, GOOD engineering that went into it, plus the platform has built-in upgradeability, much moreso than the Z

the smallest example? The fender vents on the supra are blocked off in current form - but they're THERE. Its design to be opened up, its placed in a location to function, and future performance versions will feature them. or you can just remove the blockage

on the Z? i have to hack up the fender to install the Finite Element fender vents.

its little things like that you don't really "think about when you say "60k supra" versus "45k nismo"

You seem to think I’m a Z fanboi. While I love my USED Z I’m far from a fanboi. You keep comparing used to new when it suits you.

How’s this, you have $70,000 to blow on a new car. You can buy a Supra (maybe) or you can buy a Z and put $35,000 into it.

I guarantee you the Z will smoke that BMW in every way, including looks.

Personally, I buy a C8 and spend the left over $10,000 on beer and women. But that’s me. YMMV.

OptionZero 08-18-2019 06:18 PM

i'd buy neither because both are dumb purchasers

but buying the Z would be dumber

and i wouldn't cry about an online review about a 10 year old car

45k for nismo. 60k for base supra or 75k ish for top trim

Hmmm i would get the m2 comp with a stick at that price. Atleast its not trying to be a bimmer

Base Supra is $49K, Premium $53K and Launch Edition is $55K (red seats, red mirrors and forged 19s)... add all the extras and you'd maybe be around $60K

Zingston 08-19-2019 08:25 AM

I don't care what the price is, it's 100% ugly. No deal.

$35,000 for a NEW sport Z. No reason to spend the extra dough on the Nismo. The extra $10 grand in my pocket will get the Sport fixed up better than the factory NISMO.

I put 5,000 into my sport and it’s already faster than the stock Nismo. The other 5,000 can go towards top guns air to air supercharger kit.

Your not counting the “dealer availability” tax. I’ve seen them advertised for anywhere $70,000 to $200,000.

I can buy TWO C8’s or one Ferrari for that kind of scratch.

I’m not crying about anything. My original post was people are complaining that there are no more NEW affordable, reliable, basic sports cars with a manual gearbox.

But there is! You guys just want to trash it cause it’s “old” and basic. LOL!!

PS: Haters gonna hate...

The review was for the 2019 50th Anniversary Edition. Where are you getting 10 years old?

You’re all over the place, Sparky. Settle down and stick to the subject.

Hmm; def a unique "style" of car review. However Id like to hear from the forum on the comments made at approx 15:40, where he states that in the midwest the scca guys nickname our car the "360"Z in reference to a tendency to snap oversteer. Has anyone here (as owners) also heard or experienced a "problem" with snap oversteer?

Nope. Maybe if you don’t know how to drive it....

My eyes also glassed over when he was bitching about the “on center” feel. He rambled on for 5 minutes about it and I still have no freaking idea about what he’s talking about.

My favorite part was the follically challenged “technician” who started his review with “Ive never liked these cars“

LOL!!! Oh, well good enough for me!

Have not.

Another highlight was when the “reviewer” didn’t like the exhaust “sound”

LOL!! Put a fart can on it, Snowflake! All the other millennials will love it!

FPenvy 08-19-2019 01:06 PM

soooooooooo 2 pages and i didn't see anyone question that this reviewer dude's name is savagegeese......

that name alone, seals the deal that i will not be watching his review.
