Back in ye old days, American muscle car guys used to do this, mainly to get more weight on the rear for drag run traction. I don't think having a battery inside is a problem, just a gnats fart worth of hydrogen might come out of them during a big recharge. The cars' vents draw air out the back anyway. I believe some oddball sports cars came with batts inside anyway, like the Opel GT & MGB (?) Interesting HEK mentions his Civic Si, I've got an RSX (kinda the same thing) and I thought of doing a batt relocate on it but haven't yet. Now those are real front heavy, like ~65%ish on the front |
