Auto theft is pretty severe here, yes. It is imperative to get a good car alarm if you park outside. Also, just across the border there is a major drug war going on which has resulted so far in 2,600 deaths since last January, effectively making it the most violent city in the world. While the violence doesnt seem to have spilled completely over here, I never leave my apartment without a gun, better safe than sorry. I dont know if you've heard lately, but Americans have become quite popular for kidnapping/torture/executions in Mexico recently, you might want to rethink your vacation, haha. Its so bad, Military/Civilian personnel working at Bliss are strictly prohibited from entering the country.
