Conyers Nissan on EBay or Amazon is ok. I got a case of ester oil and filters no issues with free shipping earlier this year.

I’ve also dealt with them in person awhile back.

That's what my sarcasm was directed towards. There's plenty of sellers on eBay (and Amazon) selling legit products for everything to be labeled as fake/garbage/etc like how the chain ranting went a bit ago.

My local Nissan dealer does a synthetic oil change for $45. Don't know how many people know this but Nissan now recommends a 0w20 Nisan branded oil for all Nissan autos, which is what they use.

Although lets not discuss oil too much or else the oil nazis will come in and shut the thread down. You know, because the370z.com is just doing so well with traffic and clicks here in 2018 that admins can just afford to shut down threads left and right that discuss oil even when mostly UNKNOWN INFORMATION IS BEING DISCUSSED ABOUT OIL.

Sincerely, a salty dude whose had a few threads shut down for stupid *** reasons...

Anyway..my point is that an oil change is so damn cheap there's no reason to go looking for discount crap online. $45 is extremely reasonable for a synthetic change.

Geico loves to use only “fake, bootleg, cheap, etc parts” on your vehicle...even if it’s the other party’s fault.
Just be sure & tell the claims guy “New OEM Parts Only” & you’re covered,,,he/she will squirm over that comment & try to say some things are unavailable....and then you say :bs:

So much speculation and conjecture here to assume it was fake. Like it was suggested, can OP cut open the filter in question for us to see. Would be good to do the same with the dealer product. It'll benefit the community.

Thank you! Why throw it away when there presents a perfect opportunity for us to find out more detail for real?

For what it's worth, I cut open my original factory (Japanese made) Nissan filter when I did my first oil change. In all honesty, it looked like a standard orange Fram with the cardboard end caps and all. I took some pics. I'll try to dig them up and post them.
