GNX's are awesome. Those vents can stay forever. And its a true Buick anyway, so its kosher to be there lol.
|
How do we get rid of ricers? The only way is for the manufacturer to increase the purchase price of the car so that these people with severe bad taste usually kids, can't afford them.

There is a mod place down the street from me (Platinum motorsports) and they had a Rolls Royce Phantom outside. The owner had decided it would look good to get big, ugly chrome and gold wheels (That don't fit the car AT ALL) along with a matte black paint job. I'm just wondering about the price of the original paint job and how it was replaced by something vastly inferior/cheaper. Ugly, to boot. The owner probably drives it himself, too.:rofl2: |
Wow...that's a cold remark! Personally I like Matte :icon14:
Taking a 200-300K + car and painting it Matte is another story but still, everyone is entitled to what they like though I suppose (as long as they can afford it and its not a lease :) The Gold Rims and other ____, I'm with you there, really don't care for that whole rub it in your face bling bling |

Some people just go with whatever the current fashion is without thinking whether it actually suits the car or not first. Wah! Wah! Wah! :) |
Its all good, just messing with you bro!!! :)
I just ordered the Gold Rolls Royce symbol for my Z and this sweet matching gold door trim. Hopefully I can get it to work about the hatch, hood and fenders :ughdance: We all laugh but you know you've seen it before...WTF do people think at times! For those of you reading this...live by one rule: PEP BOYS is NOT the place to buy all your MODS!!!!!! |

damn. :wtf2: |
Don't dis the GNX! She's legendary!
|
I don't think anyone is "dis'ing it". We went off on some tangent about matte paint.
Grand Nationals are the sh$%. Good friend had one in College, one fast SOB! One of the few cars that go UP in value. |
I want a Z with a gold kit to show everybody that I'm a cut above the rest. I also want the seats covered in Louis Vuitton logos. And blue LED windshield washer jets. And those spinner things. And a ten trillion watt sub that makes the car rattle and bits fall off as I blast cheesy Trance on it.

Hellz yeah. http://images17.fotki.com/v28/photos...ture001-vi.jpg Affectionately called the Taxi, I owned it a whole 9000 miles before I realized what the word "rice" even meant. It came from the dealership like this. However, I did install a B&M shifter and a remote entry system myself. I was PLANING on removing all the graphics, the retarded hood scoop (which you could see the damn hood below it through the front lol), and the wing. Thankfully, I wised up and sold it (for a loss, of course, but it was better to escape than hold onto it for longer...), and bought my 2000 Z28. Best deal evar. |
What's crazy to me is how clean that car is with snow all over the road.
I'm one of those guys that's almost 40 with a $35K car but I love the thing. I could care less what others think of me but at the same time like some advice from time to time. I don't know about back East but you see some pretty crazy sh$% out here. I think I mentioned it on another post but we saw a newer hummer with no less then maybe 60 of those chrome Pegasus hood Deco's on the roof. They removed the roof rack and coated the whole roof with these things...damn I wish I would of taken a picture, it was really nuts... I bought one of those Radiator Steel braided cover kits in HS. Thing unwould, wrapped around my fan of my 69 mustang and just about ruined it. Luckily a waterpump later and I was back on the road but some of that stuff just sucks and shouldnt make it to retail. To each their own though I suppose. |
There is one thing companies can depend on - the endless supply of ricers to buy their product.
I just CANNOT fathom how people actually like the look of those stupid fake fender vents, though. |

Being a bit on the older side here, I will say this, The Z has always been more of an older mans ride when bought new. I remember my dad wanting one and when I was a teenager only older men had the Zs. Even when I was in my early 20s and wanted to buy decent cars the companies wouldnt let you if you had a certain % of your income going to bills, they check all your bills, not like today where they just check your income basically. So back then buying nice cars was harder than today and thats why you see younger people in nicer cars today for one reason. It was a bummer but then back then you didnt have what you do today, people buying over their head and not just in cars, and not really being able to afford it. So when I was a teenager all I saw was 30 -40 yr old men driving new Zs. I bought the Z more out of nostalgia, not coolness, as it was a car I wanted when younger. When I was able to afford nice cars the Z just wasnt made to the quality I liked until the 370Z, so I was buying other cars like Audis. I also think that is why older guys for the most part dont mod the car as much cuz they remember what the car is suppose to mean. Some might get more power for the car but not so much on the exterior mods. Just my 2 cents.

Well said Steve!
Wish you were closer, we'd have to grab a beer.. or six. |
have to stick up for us older guys. LOL
|
^ In complete agreement with steve on this one as well. Let's not forget the parents of overbearing brats that grew up with the notion that "driving" was learned by playing "Grand Theft Auto" and the like who actually purchase these vehicles for their kids. Really pathetic and not one bit of appreciation learned in the process. Shameful.

Enough said. One could just as easily generalize that a young woman with so many tats is compensating for something missing growing up and that she just needs a hug. I own a 2.3 million dollar house and drive a "35 thousand dollar car". How would you classify me just outta curiousity? Don't generalize, it's dumb and it makes you look ignorant. Just my :twocents: |
