FI exhaust and the HFC's... if they are made like someone said

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 07:13 PM

Are you going with the res. HFCs?

they also have these coming out.. replaces headers and hfc's/tp's

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 07:15 PM

LTH will be a lot louder though.

SophiaZ 12-26-2009 07:16 PM

Yea..but noticed I can also get non-resonated. The difference is..what? I was told before but forget. Something to do with the tone? I don't work on cars..I just buy the parts LOL..I'm still learning

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 07:17 PM

Non-resonated will be louder. They will be the same as the Stillen's you have now. Res are quieter.

SophiaZ 12-26-2009 07:17 PM

LTH?!!!!!!!!!! Stands for whaaaat..?!!

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 07:17 PM

long tube headers.

SophiaZ 12-26-2009 07:18 PM

Is resonated the ricer loud or the deep loud?

nogoodname 12-26-2009 07:19 PM

deep loud..

non res is rasp.. thats the ricer sound

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 07:20 PM

You will have less raspiness I think. I don't know anyone that has them. I am thinking it will be similar to res and non-res test pipes. If you don't want something too loud, but want to keep HFCs, you might want the res HFCs.

SophiaZ 12-26-2009 07:27 PM

OK, thanks guys! I know a little something more now ;)

Zsteve 12-26-2009 09:15 PM

Oh Oh, I can see some different attitudes on here when it comes to a certain sex compared to others. All is good tho, but I would stay with CBE or relpace the cats and not just do a muffler replacement if your gonna change the exhaust.

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 09:18 PM

What do you mean, just not do a muffler replacement?

blue660r01 12-26-2009 09:20 PM

Sophia be careful with choosing to go TP's or LTH's. They are illegal in NJ and you should know a shop well who will pass you for inspection if you want to risk it. Also, if you get busted by DEP its a big fine.

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 09:20 PM

I think she is going with resonated HFCs.

Zsteve 12-26-2009 09:21 PM

if you just replace the muffler you dont really know how its gonna sound. CBEs are made with certain placements and sizes to achieve certains sounds and just a muffler might not get you the sound you want.

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 09:22 PM

She is going with FI.

blue660r01 12-26-2009 09:24 PM

Didnt read what she chose. Alright then :D

Zsteve 12-26-2009 09:26 PM

Matt on here has a Nismo and went with the Berk HFCs and there really wasnt much a sound difference with them and the stock CBE, so getting too loud shouldnt be a problem. He actually wants his louder so he might change the CBE too. Im sure the gains were there but not too much sound difference. Ive heard his exhaust and it sounds good and not too loud.

So a question I have for those that went with HFCs first and still had stock (non Nismo) exhaust, how much louder did yours get? Does the Nismo have something else to keep the sound down?

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 09:27 PM

Nismo is just the muffler correct? I thought it had an h-pipe catback?

Zsteve 12-26-2009 09:30 PM

Some what different than the non Nismo one. All those turns in the muffler is what helps stop the drone.

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 09:31 PM

So it is a different setup. Still FI is much better.

Zsteve 12-26-2009 09:32 PM

Yes better in gains and sound, except the drone some of us dont like but all in all better.

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 09:34 PM

I thought the drone was only down low.

Zsteve 12-26-2009 09:58 PM

yes 1.5k to 2.5K rpms other than that it sounds good and aggressive. I get heads turning and fingers pointing all the time when I start the car or zoom by.

SilverBullet 12-26-2009 09:59 PM

Yea. It sounds good. It sounds really good with HFCs, but loud.
