Default Advantages of an auto sports package..

I met a guy at a Nissan coffee meet. He has a 2015 Black sports package with 20k miles. It's automatic. I told him I wish I had a sports package with the red Brembo brakes. He said I could trade my base blue Nissan with 30k miles for his, straight up.

He has the 2015 Brembo brakes and 20k miles but it's auto.

I have the 2017 with 30k miles, also auto.

He likes my blue color.

Reasons to trade or not?

That seems like an even trade. I'd do it I think.

Yea, the advantages of the sports package are pretty great. So long as you don't mind having an older car, I too would do it.

Sounds like a decent trade. If it checks out mechanically, go for it!

I would do it only if it had a 6spd. Otherwise your car is worth more IMO.

His car has 10k less miles, plus sport package. 2015 and 2017 are basically same thing. I would absolutely do it.

You sure about that? I just ran it through kbb.com

'17 base, 30k miles, blue, auto, excellent condition = $22,852 Private Party Value

'15 Sport, 20k miles, Black, auto, excellent condition = $24,255 Private Party Value.

if you've beat on your car, sell it. if it looks like he beat on his, don't.

But what exactly are the differences between a 2015 Sports Package and a base package besides the Brembo Brakes (especially if both are Auto and no rev matching is involved)?

if 17' is base package, it will have 18x8/9" wheels : 15' sport has 19x9/10" wheels
15' sport may also have an LSD vs. open on the base
unsure about the rest.

However, in practical purposes, does it look or drive better? Going back to the original question, I would be trading away a better color (dark blue) for 10k fewer miles. I would not be getting a better car or a more attractive car.

Bigger brakes, VLSD, better rims. How do you drive your car? If you're fairly aggressive, you'll probably enjoy the upgrades.

Also you get the sport spoiler if your car doesn't have it. The sport rims are great lightweight forged Rays too. Like JL said - if you are a driver, you will enjoy the upgraded brakes and LSD... if you are a cruiser, you probably would enjoy having your slick blue color.

How do you not know this? You've owned both cars with and without the sports package. Why are you asking us things you should know from your own personal experience? The addition of the automatic doesn't change so much that your earlier experience with your own sport package Z is not applicable. JFC, dude.

Mine was a manual. I liked the rev matching. This one is an auto. Since both are auto...
