This is interesting because when I called Nissan about the difference in fluid recommendations, they told me the owner's manual is only recommended items but the dealers know best. Therefore the logic says to go with an 80W-90. Furthermore, dealers dont carry any Nissan 75W-90 oils at all, especially not a synthetic differential fluid.
I'm going with my manual too and putting in 75W-90 synthetic fluid. I figure that they had a reason for changing this, even if the customer service folks running a phone line dont know what it is.
