Hmm not sure about the 370Z AT, but I thought they might use these clutch bands. Not sure what they are really called.
I mean there has to be some piece that will competely disconnect the transmission from the engine in Neutral.

But yes, I agree, the 370Z AT is still one of the best. I never annoyed me so far as compared to some VW DSGs...

In neutral, all the clutch bands*are disengaged.
