What is this rubber part in Stillen Oil cooler kit lol?

Prob a dumb question but Circled in red. there is some big rubber thingy. What is it?

It looks like from what I can tell that the O-ring goes between the engine block and the sandwich plate.

That O-ring looks huge though for where it's going.

Yeaaaaa totally missed it in my install... It has a small o-ring already if I remember correctly when I was putting it on so I totts didnt even think about this part and of course stillen instructions dont mention it AT ALL. Just said screw on thermo plate haha... so Thats what I did......

Welll.... I think the cooler is being too cold haha.... drove about 35 miles to work this morning and it barely hit 150 degrees.... O.o

uhhhhh.... any ideas lol I saw someone say that Oil temps are actually about 20 degrees higher then what shows on the gauge now?
