This weekend was super long for me and my brother. I did the gallery gaskets, timing chain, tensioners, etc.. Went on to replace the valve cover gaskets and added z1 coil packs. We added on some z1 motor mounts since it was easy to do with the entire front end off. I replaced the radiator, and ended up adding z1 silicone hoses. After we wrapped all of that up, I did a OEM oil cooler delete and added a 34 row oil cooler with thermostatic plate.
This was the most intense project I have done, and we managed to get it all done it two days somehow. So far no leaks, but only time will tell !! ![]() On my drive home I realized I need to make a block off plate for half of this oil cooler, here is Missouri the winter can get cold. It only got above 180F sitting still, the highway it was around 165F which is not ideal for me. I am thinking a aluminum panel held on with some high temp Velcro and a few bolts maybe, idk. |

Grab some through core fan mounting straps, drill holes in the block off plate covering the number of desired rows. You can then add additional block off plates by simply wedging them under the 1st mounted plate. I'm in S. Fla. and my 27 row Setrab is half covered with a Thermo. plate for routine street driving.
