Tooled around to a few cars n coffee, cruisin shows, and muscle shows in the area. Then jumped on Hwy 50 by Orlando, and I-4 and went looking for trouble hehehehe
Basic sitting in traffic, waiting for an opening dropping and flying through moving slalom mostly. But then... I hit I-4... Best one was a BMW 850i that kept trying to block me in with traffic we were creeping on - he was in left, I was center. first 2 times I dropped and got in front of him and back to center, just having fun. 3rd time, let him block me, dropped gears, second he passed and snapped to left, back to center and blew past him. I'm pretty much stock at this point, so he couldn't have been trying too hard lol. But he did roll up and we got smiles and thumbs up rolling. Both guys in late 30's/40's just out to enjoy. Fun times with fun drivers. Today was a good awakening I need to move up an oil cooler in my list of to-do's. 63 degrees out and I was running 220-230 while zipping in traffic and pulling off red light stops. would take 20-30min regular driving to get temps back to 180-190 range. Not gonna work well when summer heat hits, and FI TDX and HFC hit in March with a tune, so won't wanna be sally driving much after that! |
I'm looking forward to my annual bonus hitting next month and putting the 34 row oil cooler on. I've had a few incidents of missing 3rd and getting 5th when calling on the oomph, so I've been seeking opportunities to practice the 6-3 shift. (when you call on oomph and are at lower speeds, 2nd is obviously easy to hit as it is on the far left and quite frankly I doubt that I will ever use 4th gear in anger)
Once I get the cooler in I can finally do the last stage of my "get acquainted with your car" routine that I've used with my last three manual transmissions: Taking first up to the redline and then staying on the top of the revs (5k-7.5k in this case). Without the additional cooling the car can't be operated this way for long enough to get familiar. Both on the road and in sim racing, I tell speed and shift points more by sound than reading gauges (keeps my eyes on the road). |

i slid twice on ice going to work. first time I was sideways.

Washed and waxed... Anyone notice that you piss fewer people off if you weave through traffic with a clean car rather than a dirty one.

Drove the Z to work today :driving:

I think mine is in a Tide commercial somewhere.

Did Y-Back exhaust, courtesy of ISR Performance. Thing roars and makes the gurgle and crackle noises :)
Installed the JDM Foglight. Courtesy of forum member Eagle. Looks much nicer than the smoked one on a black car. Changed the spark plugs, boy were they black.. Car runs much better now. Did a throttle body bypass since my hoses were rotted and leaking. Installed the Cipher Auto harness bar. Thing should be renamed to the GhetooAuto harness bar. Thing had the worst instructions for something Ive ever seen. And was a total bitch to get in. |
My 2010 Nismo just clicked 106,000 thousand miles :driving:
