Did a little something today. And right as soon as I got everything buttoned up, a freakin' typhoon dropped on us!

Oh yeah, from what people have said on the forum, the stock door speakers have foam surrounds, paper cones and are 4 ohms. Well, I beg to differ...

Cloth surrounds, poly cones, and 2 ohms! And yes, base, non-Bose system.

They must have (should have) changed the door speakers. Mine did not look like that.

The more I play around with crossover, levels, time alignment and EQ, the better they sound. I'm quite impressed with the stock door speakers so far. They're really not all that bad.

Of course, adding the HushMat to the doors and adding the Waver Breaker behind the speakers improved things. Well worth the time.

Did a little bit of cleaning up today. I wasn't totally happy with the head unit wiring that I did originally, so I neatened that up. Also added the USB to 5 pin adapter so I can use the stock USB in the center console. After that, I cleaned up the exterior by removing those Shine Auto rear bumper add-ons. They just don't look right on this car, especially after being lowered. Lastly, I gave the ole' girl a quick wash.

Oh, I also ordered a handbrake bypass and iSimple 3.5mm AUX panel mount to go in the stock location in the center console. I wired the handbrake wire of the head unit to ground, and it works with the menus. However, today I tried playing a DVD and it wouldn't display the image. It was playing as I could hear it, but no video.

Thanks Axmea?! Modeled it a bit after yours as you know...And Cooltoy photoshopped the overall roadster concept for me a few months back. I love it in the pearl. There is a guy on here who did the same in blue and it is incredible too!

Ya the headlights are definitely next. Problem is I am 100% NOT the guy to open these up after sticking them in an oven. I will end up messing them up in two seconds! I had the the paint shop install the back bumper for me but I installed the skirts and front bumper but the headlight thing freaks me out. And if I mess it up (which is very likely) it is an expensive mistake!

I really want to get it done though because man.... the headlights like yours and some of the others on here are incredible!!!

Well I ended up pulling out the head unit once again, this time to install the e-brake bypass thingie and an AUX jack. Before buttoning everything up, I connected and fired up the Pioneer to see if the bypass worked, and it did/does. Plays DVD's and everything now.

After that, I decided on a good spot to install the AUX jack, drilled a hole and mounted it. Then came the part of finally running the "Auto TA/EQ" function. For some odd reason, it had the output level of the door speakers way down at -16 and -17. All I could hear was the dash speakers. It also threw the crossover way up at 8 kHz and jacked the treble way up. Horrible!

Then again, it might have something to do with the old TOTL Onkyo receiver calibration mic I'm currently using. My main concern is proper time alignment than anything else. I can do levels and EQ myself.

Anyway...

I probably shouldn't tell you this, but probably all you needed to do to bypass that parking brake would have been to wire the parking wire to ground.
That's what I did to bypass for my Kenwood. Pretty sure it works the same on Pioneer.
