Working on installing the swifts..... Compressed a spring for the first time using spring compressors. Holy brick ******** I hated doing that. Ended up using impact gun because otherwise I'd be out all night. Still one more to go.

This wasn't today, but was recently...

Met up with a bunch of other Z owners and a few random additions for a convoy and tunnel run.

Encountered some really nice examples!
This is my vlog of the day...

I cleaned the car a few days ago. I tried a new wax, Turtle Wax ICE liquid wax, I think it is big time underrated. Applied it and the car was looking better than ever. The best thing is that its anti static and it keeps dust (majority) from clinging to your car, it's insane. Usually if I sued Meguair's gold glass wax (which is an amazing wax in its own right) it would give the pop but not the anti static property.

Concise and to the point, but it leaves nothing unsaid.

Decided that my new wrap ( Inozetek Nardo Grey ) didn't match my OEM headlights so yanked the headlights out and shipped them out to Oneighty for some mods... LOL. had my car back just a couple of days and didn't even get a chance to drive it much and I'm tearing it up again... guess this is what we call fun :nutswinger:

Looking to get the housing either Satin Black or Gloss Black, both shrouds(projector/turn signal) either a Nismo Red or Gloss Black, Dual LED orb rings and RGB Demon eyes. Don't care much for the Landing Strip Lights. Also not sure how I feel about Iron-Man LEDs in lieu of Dual LED orb rings... they say the Iron-Man give it that "evil" look. Ah...that's my day so far.

More than likely it's belongs to a good friend by the name of Justin. He just picked it up earlier this week. Have not seen it in person yet just a few pictures.

It does not disappoint. that's for sure. He's probably still breaking it in because he was definitely taking it easy on the tollway where i basically go full wangan mode.

I just got a worrisome call from Austin Z Clinic. He removed the lower oil pan and found some uncomfortably large metal shavings in it (like 1/8"+). The last time I drove it, I certainly wasn't having any issues. Going to stop by after work and take a look for myself and have a discussion with Kevin about where we go from here :eekdance:

I'm not really interested in tearing apart my engine unnecessarily. But I don't want to do a bunch of work and then find out that we do need to tear into it :shakes head:

Spent most of the fluff fund for the Z on an M3 for my daily driver so we'll just have to see what happens now and how quickly.

Used engine is about 500 - 1000. Food for thought.

Oh I know how cheap they are. But I'm building a track car for reliability, so I can't really afford to go the cheap route, and especially not with an unknown used engine. I'd rather keep the original one and rebuild it if that's what it takes.

Just go into the used section here and buy 3 of them. Be sure to store them in your living room for the next 6 years for extra JARness.

JARblue 08-10-2020 03:01 PM

I've got several people telling me the larger shavings are most likely evidence that the oil pump is failing. Too bad I don't a badass billet one that I could replace it with. Oh wait...

And that's probably still on the top of the pile of parts. Should be easy to find. :icon17:

It's below the 6 sets of coilovers he has, but above the 2 sets of craftsquare mirrors.
