Default ARK Exhaust system and Z1 Motorsports Spacers installed

What's up guys! New here, just picked up my 370Z 2 weeks ago. I just got in my first parts (wife insisted I get an exhaust for father's day...) I also had already upgraded the stock head unit as it was seriously lacking and replaced it with the Pioneer 6.2" AVH-X391BHS with backup camera. Looks and sounds so much better.

As far as exhaust, I had it narrowed down to either FI, Armytrix or ARK. After speaking with multiple vendors, I went with the ARK True Dual GRIP CBE from Vivid Racing (thanks for the amazing deal Austin!). I also wanted to add some high quality spacers to get that nice aggressive flush look and went with with 20mm CNC Aluminum Bolt-On Wheel Spacers (front and rear) from Z1 Motorsports (great guys too).

These first few mods have really made a big difference in how the car looks, sounds and performs. I know I"ll need a tune and some test pipes to get the most out of bolt-ons, so that will be a project for next year. For now, I just flat out love the stance, sound and performance from this car thanks to the latest mods. The first car I bought was a 350Z, so Japanese muscle cars have always been a favorite of mine. Looking forward to learning a lot on the forum and from you guys and hopefully getting in on some local meets! Until then, here are some pics

Thanks man! I have had the mod bug since my first ride. Once bitten...always bitten

I'll be combing through many threads for research, but I was curious on your thoughts on going with upgrading the intakes vs test pipes and a tune? I've read that the factory setup seems to be really efficient and the best gains (just from what I've gathered) seem to come from going with a high quality exhaust system, test pipes and tune for the largest power gains as far as minor bolt-ons go.

Just out of curiosity, why did you go with the ARK exhaust and not the Motordyne shockwave? I ask because the Shockwave is only a few hundred more and similar setup. BTW beautiful car.

Congrats OP, your car looks bad azz. I see a new front sway bar and end links in your future. Also maybe a new quaife rear differential....J/K have fun with the mods.

I looked at a ton of systems and somehow missed that one! I was really impressed with FI, Armytrix and ARK from all the reviews I read and videos I watched. There is no shortage of amazing high quality parts for the 370Z, that's for sure. I"ll have to check out the Motordyne Shockwave now, you've got me curious

Thanks! I'd love to slap on some new sways and an upgraded diff. This might very well happen down the road =)

I'd like to invest in some test pipes and possibly a CAI next (and a tune to take advantage of the mods), but it could be next year until all that happens. Until then, I"m having a blast in the Z It's very nostalgic after owning a 2003 350Z in LeMans Sunset (first car I actually bought).

the 370z is already 8 years old, and it's style is still very up to date.

Good good,

Hey I'm also curious about your wheel spacers. I've read a lot about vibration issues after installing wheel spacers. Are you experiencing any extra vibration on the highways or high speeds? Also, I worry about the tires now able to throw gravel onto the paint because the wheels are farther out than before. It does look really good though. I want them but am skeptical of those two possible issues.

Not all are equal, just go with a well known brand and if you aren't tracking the car, the bolt-on type will work great. I have zero vibration, the car feels rock solid as ever. I spoke to Z1 Motorsports for a while on the best setup for my car (sport model with the 19" Rays and staggered stance 245/275).

I love the track tuned suspension and forged wheels, so since I won't be changing either, we went with 20mm up front and 20mm in the back. I see where some go as far as 25mm in the rear, but I'd like to possibly go to a 285 or 305 in the back later and that would definitely push it (don't want to roll the fenders or scrub).

The possibility of getting some paint chips from the more aggressive stance is there, but well worth it IMO. I never take it on the interstate and keep my distance from other cars. Dr. Color Chip does an excellent job on repairing the occasional chip though when it does happen =)
