The past couple of days it's been snowing and nasty cold here in Chicago. There's also been a lot of rock salt on the streets which now coats the car.

The past couple of days it's been snowing and nasty cold here in Chicago. There's also been a lot of rock salt on the streets which now coats the car. When I get in the car in the morning, I've heard a 'clunk' as I sit down in the car. Is this the sound you're talking about? I've had it with other cars before in similar conditions...the salt and grime makes the brakes or drive shaft stick. When you sit down or start the car in motion the first time, the shifting of the car frees it up.
