Drifting question

So something weird happened today while drifting. At the start of my day and my cars day I did some drifting and she was sliding around nicely and it was tons of fun. Then after doing that for just a little bit I went and did my daily driving of going to school, then went out and ate, grocery shopped. I did quite a bit of driving today. And to end off the day I wanted to drift a little bit. Well when I was attempting to drift my tires were just gripping to the ground and I wasn't sliding around corners AT ALL. Could it be that my tires were just too warm? I'm not sure what would cause it..

TreeSemdyZee 03-16-2017 11:39 PM

Turn the traction control off.

Lol yes it was off that's how I successfully drifted the first time

JARblue 03-17-2017 03:34 AM

This is on a closed course, right? :icon08:

How much drift experience do you have? Sounds like its you, not the car. You should not have any problems getting the rear tires (assuming street tires) loose regardless of how warm they are. Sure cold tires make it easier, but you should have no troubles overpowering warm tires.

Zatanna Z 03-17-2017 05:07 AM

Yes it is and lol idk maybe I was tired from today and not in my zone because I have some experience in drifting. Been doing it for 5 years

Zatanna Z 03-17-2017 05:08 AM

I felt like the tires were the issue though

TerribleONE 03-17-2017 09:15 AM

Were you at a different "closed course"? Different surface, temp, etc all play a roll. Rip that e-brake then I want you to powa ova.

Maybe they were. But you haven't given any information except that they drifted fine earlier in the day and not later. It seems that it could be a combination of electronic nannies that are still active and grippier (warmer) tires.

You should really put in a switch to turn off YAW control if you're going to be drifting. The ABLS (part of ABS) applies the rear brakes when slip is detected even with VDC OFF :twocents:

cjwsrt6 03-17-2017 08:31 PM

Wait a minute, are you the DK?
You've been drifting for five years and think that if your tires are warm you can't drift anymore? I'm lost by this statement.. you sure you're drifting properly? Are they street tires or race tires, cause either way I've ran the hell out of tires and once they get too hot during a cycle they'll get greasy and slip even more. If it was the end of the day then they would've lost temperature from when you where drifterz and been cooled off again

Drifted my car nicely today. I think it was just user error that other night I just might not have been in my zone

Don't start worthless threads that deserve  and you won't get that reaction; I would have posted in that thread except it got shut down pretty damn quick. That linked thread made it clear what kind of OP we have on our hands here.

And let me guess ... your five years of so-called "drifting experience" is power sliding around corners on the public streets? :gtfo2:

Lol if it's worthless then don't come in read it and post in it. You don't look too bright wasting your time on something you call worthless. I could care less about your opinion. I'm not here to argue I'm here to just discuss things about cars with other people. And my uncle owns a business that has a huge lot I have my fun in with my car so gtfo with your assumptions

Obviously with people like yourself you think you need to give your unwanted opinion over a computer screen cause you have nothing better to do lol

cjwsrt6 03-20-2017 07:18 AM

Man, they're just jealous cause they're track guys and can't drift.
Show us some pictures of your drift missile, 5 years strong you should be drifterz pro, do any events? Or just sliding around your uncles shop?

The worthless thread I was referring to is the linked thread about your 'kills'. Congrats beating that TSX btw

I tried helping you initially. But after seeing that other thread you started ... :shakes head:

Seriously, though, how can you have 5 years of drifting experience and not know how to powah ovah? :icon14: At least you do it on a closed course :tiphat:

I'm not giving an opinion. I was just stating conclusions I came to based on my observations in your threads. Some of them may have been less accurate than others, but this thread isn't useful enough to the forum for me to worry or care about correcting myself. And I do enjoy a nice :postwhore:

I do know how to drift decently I'm not a pro by any means but I do know how to "power over" lol and that other thread still doesn't have anything to do with this thread so it doesn't even make sense to bring that up. And still I don't care about your "conclusions" or whatever you wanna call it. Like I said you're just one of those people who is probably just sad about their own self esteem so you feel the need to be negative to other people. Could just imagine how you really are in person.

cjwsrt6 03-20-2017 01:10 PM

Don't even worry about them, they probably drive a base auto Z with hood louvers and graphics, riding around they're local Walmart trying to powa ova.
Just remember to rip that ebrake, powa ova and don't hurt Mona. Be the best damn donkey kong you can be

cv129 03-20-2017 03:00 PM

Powa ova

You know what the two threads have in common? They were started by the same person :eekdance:

You sure are going through a lot of trouble to respond to all my comments as though you do care

I can be very nice or very mean depending on the circumstances. Online or in person doesn't matter. A number of people on this forum have met me in person, so just ask them. I'm negative when deserving, sure. But honestly, I'm only still going here because I missed out on your other thread ... and because you chose to get defensive instead of providing actual information about your problem in this thread.

P.S. a TSX blew by me at 90 mph this afternoon and got the 'kill' ... guess I'm a loser :ugh:

cjwsrt6 03-20-2017 04:45 PM

You are kinda slow, should've powa'd ova

I am also partial to a little every so often fun now and again. I could care less about those miserable old guys. They probably never even drifted on a huge lot, or even a little lot.

Nope just telling it how I see it. And all I can see is a arrogant person speaking BS that doesn't even matter. And I wish I knew you in person, you probably sure in hell wouldn't say a word then... lol keep talking negative over a computer screen. Hope it makes you feel tough. When I see a stupid thread I don't care for I don't go try and talk down on someone and be negative. Well cause I'm not a **** talker over a computer screen!! I'm a pretty positive person with a good outlook on life

Usually people who intentionally act like a negative b***h over a forum usually aren't the type of people who are super confrontive in real life
