Freaking Nissan messing up like this. Unbelievable.

it's a ******* sports car. this is depressing.

You have an awful lot of hatred towards Nissan and the Z. 85% of what you've posted in this thread is just bashing the car and company. Why don't you do your Z (and us) a favor and sell it to someone who will actually appreciate it? :gtfo2:

It's not a track car. Nissan didn't engineer it to be one. It can be made track ready fairly easy.

It probably goes to limp mode to protect itself. Stop whining and just set up your car to what you want for do. And if you ask to share one more time I will consider you a communist. Lots of info on track set up here.

Yep. Typing required. Try google searching with the string "site:the370z.com track setup" or "site:the370z.com" followed by your key words of choice.

The nannies will not let you over-rev the engine (unless you jam it into too low a gear, but, as you have seen, RevMatch will warn you) - the car has strong survival instincts.

But, yeah, I would get a little nervous above 6500 or so when I had my Z. You get over it. :driving:

Just been told if I keep the revs up drifting constantly the motor will shut off.

Is this true?

does it apply to the Nismo version as well?

how much are they going to limit the 370z? ridiculous.

Thanks

If you are making a hard right hand turn, the car may shut off because of fuel starve. If drifting a left hand turn. You could get fuel starve. The fix is CJM's roadrace pump kit. All Z's are the same on this.

If you are running up against the rev limiter. The rev limiter will cut power. Like ALL other cars. The stock setting on the Z is 7,800 rpms. Don't expect the engine to live long there. The oil pump gears will fail at some point.

If you still have the VDC on. It WILL cut power when it senses slip, and apply a rear brake caliper through the ABS to straighten the car up. With it off, it will still be some what active. You have to wire a switch in the power wire to the yaw sensor. Nothing ridiculous. This is a street car, not a track car to begin with.

Rev-Match will not help you if you catch a down shift earlier than planned. Nothing like seeing 8,500+ on the tach. The car won't survive stupid.

Skip to 3:20 and listen to the difference in the exhaust note before and after a "money" shift. :nutswinger:
