My Z was my DD for years, but I'm much happier with a cheap econobox for a daily driver. Cheaper to run and a warranty is pretty nice. Not to mention I can park close to places and not have a panic attack wondering if someone gives me a door ding while I'm in the grocery store.

I have a 2005 Jetta TDI that just turned 100k miles I use as my DD. How does it compare to the z? It's lame compared to the Z, and I haven't even gotten my Z yet! ;)

2015 Murano Platinum. It compares in that it, like the 370Z roadster, has been flawless. These are the first Nissans I've owned and the first cars to have zero rattles. (Rattles are kind of a pet peeve. People who try to spit through chain link fences are another pet peeve.)

I'm considering selling my Mazda3 come the springtime and using the Z as my DD. It's too fun to drive which makes it hard for me to keep it garaged most of the time.

All good and dandy till u get dinged or keyed or smashed by ups truck.

I'm just posting real world experience. Not on my Z but on my various dd's.
Add getting hit by shopping cart. Getting door dented by drunk. |

Had my last ride till spring last night. DD is a 98 pathfinder that I fixed up and can't complain with respect to reliability and ride quality. Taking her down to Florida soon to get away from the cold. Too bad I can't stay there till spring.

My DD is a 2010 1LT Camaro that I have added every suspension & performance modification available to, but keeping it naturally aspirated. It started out a DD, then I started having fun modifying & racing it & garaged it & had other DD's. Then when I got my Z the Camaro got kicked out of the garage & went back to being a DD. The Camaro is still a blast to drive & I rather missed driving it. But after getting the Z on the track bone stock, it blew the Modified V6 Camaro away!

My daily is my 4-door Z, a 2010 G37 sedan, backed up by my Honda RL....

We have a few daily drivers. Mine is my 2013 Audi TTRS, hers is her Z, but during the winter she will drive our 2017 Audi Q7. When I have to drive for work, I use a leased vehicle that we have so that I can keep the miles off our normal cars. That is a 2014 Optima. That goes back in 4 months though

If you love your car, you drive it. Folks in Canada DD it. Just put good winter tires on and use it all winter long. Yes, on the few days, maybe 5 a month, it's snowing or icy. In that case taking a taxi is cheaper than using another car, pay for upkeep and maintenance of that car. |
