I only or usually keep cars for a few years or until something else catches my eye. Like a lot of us I am waiting for the new Z to come out, but in saying that, this time next year I will be looking at the new Corvette Grand Sports seeing how much the price has came down.

How long do you plan on owning your 370z?
Bought her new and do not have any plans to get rid of her ![]() Also, I never consider resale value on a vehicle. A car is not an asset. I assume 100% loss and any return I consider a bonus.

![]() I've only sold 1 vehicle in my life; my first motorcycle (2007 Harley-Davidson 1200 roadster). I ended up taking a $1500 hit after 5 years of riding it, so no real harm done. What I actually wanted/ended up with would have been unsuitable for a beginning rider anyway.

Bought it in 2011 with 7k miles. So it's been a little over 5 years, currently at 35,000 miles. At this point, between the mods and the depreciation over time, it's definitely worth more to me to have a car I enjoy driving and trust for reliability than the money I could possibly get selling it.
Likely keeping it until I'm unable to drive it as a permanent part of my garage. It'd share space with any future sports cars, like if I were to get a Grand Sport in a few years. For new cars, nothing right now under $80k would be enough of a change to justify buying.

Bought mine in Dec 2013 with 78K miles, sold July 2016 with 109K miles. About 12k miles per year. Had headers, tp, exhaust, coils, wheels, spacers, crank pully, full audio upgrade
The plan was to keep it until I got a good enough job/promotions to get a better car. And that's exactly what I did. Got a 2014 Cayman S 2 months ago at 25 y/o ![]()

I got my new Z in July as a retirement gift to myself. I retired about 5 years early. So I haven't thought all the way through the end game yet. All I know is I wanted a fast car and I don't need a back seat...

Very very long time.
Mod goal is "poor man's" 996 GT3.

Another old guy here. Bought it new 2.5 years ago. I plan to keep it as long as I am able to climb into it, which I hope will be as long as I'm able to drive. (I'm beginning to notice that other cars aren't much easier for me to get into than the Z.)
I'm afraid the biggest monkey-wrench in my plan is the obvious inability of other drivers to see a freaking red sports car. It is incredible how many cars have pulled out right in front of me in the past two years. |

When I get a new car, it is always with the intention to keep it until it is no longer financially feasible to keep.
Somewhere along time I get it paid for, I always start to get an itch for a new one. So, I guess about 5 years? Kirk B. |

Driving mine till the wheels fall off... with everything I've done to it, it is like a totally new car that feels amazing to toss around. I got solid subframe bushing to install, then clutch+flywheel, new seats. After that a built v6 9K screamer of an engine replacement at some point. That's my plan, so I'm gonna own the car for... a long while.
The interior is simple and functional, the quality is great and there's nothing else I see that is like it, even in just being simple and minimalistic if you will; too much tech for me with the new cars. I also think that why there's so many examples of people taking older cars and rebuilding them top to bottom and keeping them simple and just straight up fun, since that's what it is all about...

I bought mine new in November, 2010. Had no idea how long I would keep it. I am getting older ( will be 70 this December ) and thinking about settling down. Their are a couple of cars I would like to buy, but I am undecided at this time. I would like a car that has some get up and go but can be used as a year round DD here in Iowa. For now I plan on keeping my Z until one of the car companies make something that really appeals to me and fits my budget.
