Default 370z rear Axle replacement

Hi guys had some help yesterday when I figured out my axle is blown. Got around on ebay found a good looking one with 60k~ish miles on it in good condition but had another question..

Are there different types of axles for the Z's in-between models?
Like are there base, touring, sport or nismo axles or are they all the same.
Just being sure before I pull the trigger and want to make sure Im getting the right length and specs for my Z.

Thanks alot!

How are you coming to the conclusion you axle is blown? Yes the stub side shaft varies from auto, manual LSD ect. Also some shafts are threaded while others are not, so you may end up having to use bolts & nuts v.s just bolts.

Yes,,,also different ratio's
RC33,RC36,RC39
my base 11' came with an open RC33 (3.357:1) since added a Quaife Helical traction device.
RC36 (3.69),RC39 (3.90ish) could be a 3.92
some are open & some posi...most Sport's & Nismo's had posi.

Looks like you just have a bad CV axle;that bolt's to the stub shaft on your diff.
pictures are kinda icky looking/may have a failed rear bushing, causing extra slop.
Look in your door jamb & get the Axle code from it,,,RC__ & this will give you an idea of what you're working with.
As far as the ring/pinion/internals being broke...A qualified tech could ck. that-also have your fluid changed on the proper intervals or before.

Yeah its RC36, But I'm being told any type of replacement cv axle shaft will be fine?
Even though I have LSD and my ratios are different than that of a base? is this true

If you plan to keep your ~Z~,,,do not put a used axle on it.
I know you live on the Left coast-but we have some very good tech's & parts supplier's on the east coast.
call Z1Motorsports & speak to Russ,Jon or Joel...They have the knowledge to help guide you......i'm not sure what will fit-but sure as heck wouldn't go the used route.
Look up their website..

Clicking axle is often cured with a regrease like the 350z , easy job shouldnt cost more than $70

There is a TSB for it
