Why is always a Dodge Challenger ?

Weather at a light, on the freeway, or at a four way stop, it's always a Challenger that has to rev up or pull up and try to prove something! I always wave and smile and go about my way. I told one dude last week " I've got nothing for you" he smiled and waved! Those cars are fast, no doubt, but do they always have to prove it?
Just saying...

ChopsZ 08-09-2016 09:53 PM

Because they know our little V6 powered rice rockets are a force to be reckoned with. They have to "try" and prove a point that their American car is better than our Japanese car. Little do they know there's a LOT more to it than just 0-60 times. Whatever makes them happy I guess.

I just roll my eyes, shake my head and go about my business.

Smashley 08-09-2016 10:10 PM

All sorts/years of BMW's seem to be the tick on my ballz around here:shakes head:

BboyZ 08-09-2016 10:12 PM

Mine, Audi S5.

Unless it's srt8 version, it has nothing on the 370z. Many r/t tried with me and left gravely disappointed

old guy 08-09-2016 11:40 PM

Maybe they take the model " challenger " litterly ! :bowrofl:

old guy 08-09-2016 11:45 PM

leases are very reasonable around here. $250 a month gets you in = lots of challengers.

ChaseZ 08-10-2016 12:56 AM

It's late model mustangs that are every other car on the road here.

And the drive and act like they are Bugattis :icon17:

RN SHARK 08-10-2016 02:50 AM

You should see what it's like when I'm driving my SRT Grand Cherokee. Every freaking Challenger and Charger thinks I want to race them. I'm like, dude, I'm going to the daycare.

JC-Nismo 08-10-2016 03:11 AM

When I'm in my SRT, I can't get no one to bite. I guess they don't want there pretty little sports cars to get mauled by a 4400lb dinosaur.

Spooler 08-10-2016 07:38 AM

I don't fall for that crap. I will only do it if I know a cop sits up ahead. Yes, I will get them all excited and lead them into the trap. That is when I laugh. (LMAO)

SouthArk370Z 08-10-2016 07:41 AM

You don't have to worry about me trying to goad you into a race. I had an '09 370Z for a few years and have a '14 Challenger now, so I have some idea of what both cars can do. My Challenger is a great DD but lumbersome compared to a Z.

Chuck33079 08-10-2016 07:42 AM

It's a Dodge thing, not just specific to the Challenger. If you're doing 80 on the freeway, it's always a Dodge Ram 3' off your bumper trying to go faster.

onzedge 08-10-2016 08:11 AM

I have this experience with Prius drivers.

MagmaRed370z 08-10-2016 08:19 AM

BRZ/FRS drivers always pass me doing 200mph flybys like I want to race them all, no idea why :shakes head:

KMO-II 08-10-2016 08:44 AM

YES !! Always those BRZ's Always, always, always !!

/Angelo350Z/ 08-10-2016 09:06 AM

BMW 335s and 328s get on my @ss all the time whenever I'm just driving calmly on a twisty country road. Maybe they're not trying to prove anything, but it's pretty annoying when they get too close to where I can't even see their headlights. I just speed up in tight turns and they fall back. The only American cars that try to have some fun with me on German country roads are Corvettes.

This..all day. Had one of these literally try to run me off an on ramp a few days ago. Surprisingly quick truck and a real DB behind the wheel. He was surprised when a Hyundai handed him his ***. 2015 Ram 1500 R/T Hemi Test – Review – Car and Driver

Interesting. I slow down when I'm being tailgated, especially if the person behind me has no escape route. When they can eventually pass, I stare them down. The more I can wind up a tailgater by slowing down, the happier I am. :)

mishuko 08-10-2016 02:06 PM

First time on dragon had an audi and bummer riding my ***. I slowly upped the pace until they got dropped. Got some thumbs up after cause Canada eh. Should of topped it off by apologizing for going so slow :p

Lmao, you should live here in Kingman where diesel trucks and muscle cars abound. I don't even play with truck guys and let them have their glory, that is until I get done building my car and then turn my attention to my own diesel truck lol. I sparingly will mess with the pony car crowd, because there are several kids with civics that make short work of them. It's pretty funny to watch it happen because there not expecting those ricer boys to have cars that run in the mid to low 11's.

:) While one of the outrageously overpowered Challenger models might take a Z off the line (there is no substitute for cubic inches), they are still lumbering beasts in the curves. I do miss taking corners as fast as I wanted. ;)

I'll race any pony car/WRX/Civic/M series/AMG in my Grand Cherokee... offroad. I'll win the second we get to the first obstacle more than 8" high.:driving:

Well, if you race from Los Angeles to some off road trail leading to a hill in some park in NY, those cars will reach NY and clear up the 8" obstacles long before you get there.

felix0121 08-10-2016 08:06 PM

For me, Dodge challenger is only one 'true' muscle car currently existing.

Unless they do harm to you, I think they would deserve doing the high reving.

(I hope you be safe from any other cars)

:D

JohnTrang 08-10-2016 09:50 PM

Pick 'em up trucks here!
But yes, Challengers in the next town.

Z-Girl 12 08-10-2016 10:03 PM

Mustangs stalk me all day everyday in my neck of the woods. Soooo annoying... but when in in my Sentra no one wants to play!

LOL, It is the small town syndrome, moved here 23 years ago for job with a two year commitment and I never left. Small town country boy at heart, spent 26 years driving a 4x4 in the wilds of AZ and OR.

When I lived in Phx we would take the jeep up the "back way" to Crown king  That and the canyons near Florence were awesome.

It seems that we have differing opinions of what a "true" muscle car is. While the Challenger may (or may not; from what little I've read recently the competition is pretty stiff and ratings/reviews tend to be exaggerated) be the top muscle car today, it is certainly not the only one and will probably not hold the title for long. YMMV

I've got one too... LOL I think everyone does. The problem is, I would put him in my car years ago and scare the crap out of him. I keep asking him to go to Zdayz with me, All I get is a no. Something about being older and wiser and how we were so lucky to still be alive because of all the crazy stuff "I" did. I told him my wife had me de-balled and he still won't go. I helped him get a classic 1987 Trans Am GTA with a 350 a couple of years ago in my area with only 3x,xxx miles on it. He and his wife hitched a ride 2 1/2 hrs to get the car with his father and mother inlaw. The story goes they talked about all the crazy stuff I use to do years ago. It took the whole trip. I didn't think I did that much crazy stuff. Go figure.

No one wanted to play with my wife's Sentra. Not even me. I'm so glad that car's gone.
