Stereo install problems. Please help.

So I took my 16' Z to the local stereo shop to have them install a Pioneer Avic-7100Nex with a backup camera and now I have a couple issues. First off when I go to pick it up the salesman tells me that they werent able to wire up my steering wheel controls because the device they use has not come up with a solution for my particular year car. I know from reading this forum that plenty of you have been able to make this work so what device is it that I should tell them to try? So on to my next issue....The trunk wont open. I press the button and can hear the mechanism doing what it normally does but the trunk no longer pops up at all. I also tried pulling on the emergency device under the trunk carpet and nothing. Its obviously related to the install somehow and I am going to take it back to have the shop look at it but Im at a loss as to what it could be. Any help would be greatlt appreciated.

Thanks for the replies. As it turns out the installer was visiting the wrong page for the steering wheel control unit so I pointed them in the right direction and the trunk lock mechanism was evidently unhooked by accident when my reverse camera was installed.The lead tech had to crawl in the trunk and pull the panels to access the lock to open the hatch.Crisis averted!
