Default Woke to a dead battery

wife rolled up windows last night....left the car in the "on" position. came out this am, car was dead, zero response w/both fobs. hooked a bat charger and after 1 hr started fine, pulled into garage. bat won't take a charge at 2 amps or 12 prior to, and following start for 3 hrs now....12.52 V at the terminals....its a 13 w/15k....question could this type of drain "hurt" this battery or did I just get lucky and have a weak bat

deep cycling a regular acid battery usually takes away about 20-30% of its life from my experience. you should keep it charged until it floats.

if u dont drive the car much during the week, definitely keep it hooked up to a battery tender during the week.

You hurt it. Not sure how accurate kenchan's 20-30% is, but it sounds about right.

IIRC, the Z is supposed to turn itself off after a period of no input. If that is so, your battery is probably weak to start with.

Thread was a real disappointment after reading the title.

Good luck with your battery.

thanks to all who replied, not sure about pulse charging to deal with sulfides, the battery is out, I'm oscillating between 2 and 10 amps every hr, seems to be taking a charge, the meter is acting a little strange on the charger, its the wife's dd so I'm in agreement with barncobob, I will let it sit for a couple of days and see how it reacts to charging, and if there are any doubts, just replace it.

sorry for the disappointing shortened title, as one can see I post/blog very little, had the car a yr, visiting the site several times a wk, before joining....I could tell you that my wife is a little hottie who made me go in the garage and remove a bat last wk before she would back the z out in her mini skirt that drives me batsh#$ crazy opening the door for a new title...."batsh%^ crazy with a dead bat and battery in the same wk"
but then I'm sure you'd all want pics of the bat.......

Forget pics of the bat. We want to see the hottie in a mini.
