enjoying the 370 while it's still a rare sight

Today, I had a valet guy at the Ceaser's Palace in Las Vegas say "370? when did these come out."

it was quickly followed by "looks better than than the 350!"

m4a1mustang 11-21-2009 12:10 AM

Man I miss the rarity. I see them on the daily now... minimum of 4-5 a day to-from work. :(

Yes I agree, They aren't massed produced as much, like the other Nissan Models, so that make it's pretty cool. I don't want to take this off topic so please excuse me! But I wouldn't trust a Valet with my Z, from knowing friends that did that, the stories would make you think twice.. back on topic.

Really? I would never have guessed...

I live in San Francisco and I could about count on one hand all the 370's I have seen this entire year, definitely under a dozen. This area seems to be home to the import market as well, strange.

gleonard 11-21-2009 02:10 AM

I've heard those sort of stories too, from friends who are valet's, but all they did where I valeted was back it in in front of the door. I also have a device that sends me text messages when it is driven over a certain speed limit, or out of a specified area that I can define.

I've only seen one silver 350 in my area (middle Virginia). But then most of the people around here drive SUVs and pickups......yuck

Eric 11-21-2009 06:00 AM

I haven't seen many in my area either I've seen a total of 3 on the road so far and 3 at the dealership including a roadster.

Horseface 11-21-2009 06:28 AM

It still IS a rare sight where I live in LA. I've seen only 2 of them. I've see more Ferraris, Lambos and Rolls Royces around here.

I didn't even know the 370z even existed until a couple of months back.

370Zsteve 11-21-2009 07:14 AM

Since September I've seen exactly one 370 on the road here in CT.

j.arnaldo 11-21-2009 07:46 AM

2 down here, so far. But, then again, they're so much more expensive at Puerto Rico-- $50,000 for a Base model. That's why I bought a used 350; very reliable '04.5 Coupe for which I paid $20,500 with just 13k on her. The original owner paid $43,000 in '04. Greetings.

ChrisSlicks 11-21-2009 08:22 AM

Only seen 2 here in MA all year and both were this month!

Hey, have you had any of the oil burning problems with that model?

On Topic, I've only seen maybe a small handful of 370s actually on the road.

areyouin729 11-21-2009 10:16 AM

I rarely see them in Philadelphia (area)

An older lady (40's I'd say) in my town owns the carbon gray sport, I see her a lot and I saw an older guy who was prob at least 65 yrs old driving one, I forget what color. I saw one in Blue Bell, PA which was white/sport combo

ho6950 11-21-2009 10:32 AM

I've only seen 2 in north nj since their release

RCZ 11-21-2009 10:48 AM

I see about one a week here in Miami. Which is surprising. I see about 5000 350z every day.

280z/300zx 11-21-2009 11:04 AM

Only seen 4 here in Vegas since they launched, and one of them was a tourist from Ca. As far as I know I'm only one of 4 here in the Vegas area. Mine is yellow touring sport, there is another one exactly like mine but automatic, a Red sport, and a PG non-sport. Talking with some of the guys at the dealer, they have sold more but stated that most people either save them as weekend toys or are from out of state sourcing one here. As rare as the car is here it doesn't draw too much attention. Then again we reguarly have exotics running down the road daily so a Z isn't going to stand out too much.

You must be drivin in the wrong part of LA ;) .

There are a bunch of us out here and I've seen a bunch out here in the San Fernando Valley that aren't on this forum.

No, I'm pretty sure I'm in the right part of LA. ;) There's just way too much money round these parts.

The only 370s I've seen have been while over at work in the valley, weirdly enough. Maybe if I do buy one, I'll be the only one in my neighborhood?
:happydance:

speedworks 11-21-2009 11:53 AM

Yeah, I've had my car since January, and only seen 2 all year in MA.

Hey Steve - Where in CT are you? I live in Southington and just bought a blue 370...it's getting a clear bra installed as I type this.

I've actually only seen ONE other 370 in CT so far... a white one on I691E a few weeks ago.

So you get a text message and then what? You go running to the valet stand with the text message saying your car is doing 140mph about 30 miles away? That system would just make me nuts. My car will never have a valet's a$$ behind the wheel.

Modshack 11-21-2009 12:47 PM

My Z is about the most exotic car in town......I've only seen one other, though my friend (Zpirate here on the forum) just broomed his Vette and picked up a PG 370 from Lou Fusz to go with his tricked out 350.....:-)

I see maybe one other 370z (not counting the one at UH I see) a week. They have popped up a bit more the past few months, which is good to know they are selling but I like having a rare car.
I have a lot of people who call it a 350z, but once they see it up close they realize they are completely different.

Eric 11-21-2009 01:19 PM

I just saw my first yellow touring non-sport 370Z this morning at the Nissan dealership, it looked BEAUTIFUL in that color.
I might actually consider yellow over red. Don't know yet.

It's really too bad that yellow won't be available in 2010. :shakes head:

I can remotely disable the car

I've had mine since September but have been looking for them since they first became available, and I've only seen 2 others in this area, and 2 others at the Jersey shore.

We should exchange notes on good backroads, speed traps, etc.

I have seen one for the last 6 months on the fwy. I have seen more Aston Martin Vantages than the Z.

Weird.

chuckd05 11-21-2009 02:31 PM

by my house there are actually three within a 2 mile radius... but outside of those three i never see any other ones on the road. I saw MAYBE 3 or 4 other ones since their release on the road, traveling on major highways and town roads in a busy rural area too. They are just not around and i love it. Same feeling as when i had my s2000 back in 2002... i saw one red sport with hfc other than the three i know of. Mine is PW, another PG, and a MB. Mines the most hooked up of the three with just tint, springs, test pipes, and g3's.

I baught my intakes off the guy with the blue one as it burned a whole in his AC line and he un installed them. I snatched them up for 250 and installed them correctly so i made out on that deal.

azrlee 11-21-2009 02:55 PM

Talk about rare, here in Costa Rica there are only 2 Nissan 370Z`s, one yellow and one Black, almost the same as 6 years ago with the 350Z, when I got my Redline for 3 years I had the only Redline in the country, hahahah!

Now that Im waiting for December to get my Red 370z Im pretty sure will be very rare!! At least here in Costa Rica!!! :happydance:

bilo 11-21-2009 03:08 PM

LOL....I live in central valley california for a bit (my residence is LA) and I know the guy who owns the only other one in this whole area. I have never seen another 370 in the 4 months I have been here. I love it. Same for LA when I go on the weekend. I have only seen 4. I am gonna miss the exclusive feel in a year it will be over. :( only the true Z lovers have them now all the loosers and girls who say "Like OMG thats soo cute I want one" are gonna get them soon! Loosers!

--oh yeah and to hit on Triples comment. The 350 wasnt mass produced. The body style as so awesome and liked why change it for 7 years. Only the hood, engine, and lights were changed over a 7 year period.

Kones 11-21-2009 03:45 PM

I've been driving around the peninsula here in the bay for a few months and have only seen a handful. Went to a meet and we had 4 in one spot and it was the most in one place I'd seen other than the dealership. I love the fact that I never see other 370s. I was in the city (SF is "the city" here) and must have seen at least 10 350s last night. But not a single 370. I'm okay with it, still get plenty of looks :-)

I was down in LA a few weeks back and was being checkecd out by a chick in her Bentley. That made me laugh.

fullmonty 11-21-2009 04:41 PM

I've seen 1 370 since they came out on the road here in Central Jersey. This was back in August, graphite touring, sport. Wonder if hes on here.

kenchan 11-21-2009 05:44 PM

yah, around my area ive only seen 3 others.

Yellow is a sporty color. You should consider it since they're offering it for the first year. It could become a collector car.

m4a1mustang 11-21-2009 06:51 PM

I met with ZCarMan this morning for coffee and we were joking about how I always see tons of 370s. Sure enough on my way to Petco later in the day I pass yet another black 370.

I know of at least 3 that live within a 5-mile radius... one in my apartment complex.
