How much you got in your trunk? (hatch)

my rear glovebox is always filled with nothing but air.

These three were taken upon arrival home from our 4343-mile, 15-day road trip last fall. We changed clothes every day and didn't do laundry along the way. There were a few noticeable "secrets" to our success:

1) Pack in multiple smaller, flexible (we used nylon) laundry bags rather than a few pieces of standard luggage with stiff sides.

2) Train my wife that the cargo could not extend above the roofline of the hatch. This was much more difficult than it should have been. YMMV.

3) Try to manage to leave at least a small area on top to be able to use the rear-view mirror.

4) Put white or light-colored objects on the bottom or well to the side to minimize reflections in the rear-view mirror.

We did manage to jam in everything we needed without encroaching upon our space up front.

All in all, it was a delightful road trip!
