and yah, make sure to secure the shaft while turning so you dont spin the car under u...
i someone took mine off without damaging anything and never strapped down shaft.

It's not bolted on. It has some kind of adhesive to it. All you need to do is use a heat gun or your girlfriend's/wife hair dryer and apply heat to the emblem. Once the emblem is heat it up good, you can use a flat head and pry out the badge. Just be careful with your paint. I would recommend using a small rag behind the flat head while taking it out. After you remove the emblem, remove all the adhesive that is still on car. Then you can install your new emblem just make sure the area is cleaned well so the new badge will stick. Everything is the same for the back.

I made sure to protect the shift knob and used a strap wrench....leather on the knob ended up ripping and my oem knob was destroyed. Lol

I just twisted mine right off. It took some muscle, but it went. Spend some more time at the gym you sissies!

For the badges use heat like tonyl001 mentioned but instead of a screwdriver I used dental floss in a sawing motion to remove the emblems. However, this was on my old Sentra Spec V.

you might need to use a strap wrench to remove the shift knob.
