great but not perfect

okay so i got a 2016 Touring for my new year/graduation present, only problem is, it's an automatic and i begged and begged for a manual transmission. dont get me wrong i am very happy with the car but i feel like i could enjoy the car a whole lot more if it was a stick shift... any suggestions?

axmea? 03-21-2016 07:16 PM

Congratulations. It is free so don't complain and if you're not complaining just be happy you got one.

GrooveStyle 03-21-2016 07:45 PM

You could be thankful for what nice people gave you the car, or you could spend your own money on one. You even got the touring... Base + sport package on a 6MT is gonna be cheaper than the car you have. If you want to convince yourself that way....

Also, the 7 speed auto on these cars is really nice and responsive from what I've heard..... Just sayin.

I wish I had this problem. I guess your school doesn't teach or enforce English grammar. :tiphat:

Wonka2581 03-21-2016 08:19 PM

The 7at is amazing in these cars.. He'll I have a 7AT

Duc_Z09 03-21-2016 08:20 PM

Jesus, most of us had to buy our own. Trade it in on a 6MT and stop bitching would be my advice.

This post made me lol. Be thankful , you got an amazing car! The AT is super fast shifting.

Wonka2581 03-21-2016 10:06 PM

Op how old are you anyways? Hell I had to ride a bicycle 3 miles one way to work when I was 16... Until I saved up enough for a rust box POS car... Be thankful that you even have or were "Given" a car let alone a 370z...

my graduation present was a bicycle...

it was a manual bicycle.

I made revving engine sounds when I pedaled faster.

When I graduated I had to get a job, save my own money and buy my own car (it wasn't brand new) so I wouldn't complain about what was "given" to you for free. :hello:

MagmaRed370z 03-22-2016 07:18 AM

Yup, you're right. Trade it in if you will, but you're gonna come off as a HUGE a** to whoever bought it FOR you.

Yeah, man up. Mommy and Daddy gave you a $30k graduation present and you're such an ungrateful little bitch that you're upset they didn't get you the exact options you wanted?

And then complaining that it's not what he wanted.

Congratulations, OP, you are exactly why people think your generation is a bunch of whiny, entitled worthless hunks of ****. Are you ******* serious? Gets a free $30k car as a present from a Mommy and Daddy that obviously have too much money and zero ******* sense on how to raise a child to be a contributing member of society, and then goes out to complain to the world that it's not right?

You do realize that the vast majority of the people you're complaining to on here worked for their cars? You think someone that earned their Z has any sympathy for a spoiled entitled little cockwarmer that gets a free one and it's not good enough?

barncobob 03-22-2016 08:59 AM

i got a 63 VW, beats walking sort of:eekdance:

When I graduated high school I got one of the best gifts ever. My parents gave me a couple of dozen used moving boxes and 3 rolls of packing tape.

You and me both. If someone dropped a Z in my hands for free I wouldn't care if it was manual or auto.

I think we jumped a bit too high too fast again... :(

TerribleONE 03-22-2016 09:53 AM

Just send that car my way so I can use it as a DD since you aren't happy with it.

SouthArk370Z 03-22-2016 09:53 AM

LOL My first car (gift from parents) was a 10 year old 1964.5 Ford Mustang coupe. It had lived in N Illinois, so it was rusted out behind all four wheels (which also made it impossible to keep warm in the Winter). Ugly as homemade sin, but it got me where I wanted to go. I didn't do any bragging on it but I damn sure didn't complain.

And it had what was arguably the best manual transmission of that era - the Ford Toploader. :P
