As of now, I have no power mods on my Z. I recently asked the same question to a friend and he made a couple points.

1. With a tune the throttle response can be much more responsive.

2. (May be true) The default throttle limit is only 85%? Need reference though.

3. IF you are fortunate enough to own a 7AT, you can decrease transmission shift time.
